This Week

But God remembered Noah
Have you ever felt as though God had forgotten you? Maybe a relationship wasn’t working out as you had planned. Maybe your health took a sudden turn for the worse. Maybe the job you thought you’d keep for a long time is going away. God, where are you? The opening words of Genesis 8 are not only written for you, they’re written about you. This weekend, let the Spirit teach you what it means that God remembers you. Gather with other saints to remember him, receive his grace, and find comfort in his truth. We’ll gather at 7:00 PM on Thursday and at 8:00 and 10:30 AM on Sunday.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Testimonies of gratitude
God’s grace and his blessings are new every day. If you find yourself swept away with gratitude, consider being video interviewed for our Thanksgiving worship services. It won’t take long, and it doesn’t have to be scripted. Pastor Hunter will simply sit with you and have a conversation about gratitude and your reasons for it. If you’re interested, send a note to [email protected], or write it on your Connection Card. We’ll follow up and schedule a time that works for you.

Adult choir in October
Blend your voice with others to sing God’s praise. We’ll rehearse at 7 PM on Wednesdays in the Soul Café to sing for worship on:

  • Sunday, November 3 (rehearsals will be October 16, 23, & 30).
  • Sunday, December 15 (rehearsals will be December 4 & 11).

High school-aged and older are welcome to attend. Interested in participating? Email Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs.

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Preview some of the songs we will use for worship this weekend. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Call season begins
Tuesday, October 15, marks the first day of calling season for teachers. This would be a time that any teacher on staff, if they have been at Westside for three years or more, is eligible to receive a call.

Westside and St. Andrew have plans to call for the position of School Music Program Director and Children’s Ministry Director. It is a full-time shared position between the school and church ministries. This person would fulfill duties with Westside such as overseeing the music curriculum in the school and helping to lead music programs in other areas. As Children’s Ministry Director, this person would assist in many programs under the direction of Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad. The two main responsibilities would be to work with the Plugged into Jesus program and the St. Andrew Summer Camp.

The call meeting for this call will be held at St. Andrew on Thursday, October 17, at 6 PM. Please make every effort to attend.
