This Week

St. Andrew 50th anniversary celebration
Join us for worship on Thursday at 7 or Sunday at 8 or 10:30 to celebrate 50 years of God’s grace to and through St. Andrew. We will continue to be fed by Jesus’ parable wisdom recorded in Matthew 13.

In addition to the weekend worship service, join us 12 – 2 PM on October 26 for food, fun, St. Andrew history and trivia, and even prizes. To help with the meal count, please let us know if you plan to attend.

A Place of Peace

Updates related to the ministry expansion and building project

Construction update
Steel studs continue to go in and should be finished next week. You can start to see where doors and windows will be in the building! It won’t be long until the walls are completely enclosed.

The finishing touches are still being made to Parmenter Street. It is open on weekends and evenings. If you come during the weekdays, please be mindful that they will need to paint lines and do some other minor work yet.

A Place of Peace giving
Giving can be set up like other offerings. Go to “Give” at the website, and you can set up a one-time or recurring gift. Choose “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund.” If using a check, please put “A Place of Peace” in the memo line. If using St. Andrew offering envelopes, use the designation “Ministry Expansion.”

Even if you didn’t make a formal pledge, you can still give. Every bit helps, as St. Andrew will still carry some debt, and the less debt, the more ministry.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Call received
Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs continues to deliberate the call she received from 922 Ministries in Appleton to serve as their Worship Operations Director. Please keep her in your prayers as she considers how and where God is calling her to serve. She welcomes any comments, thoughts, and prayers from her St. Andrew family as well. Feel free to contact her at naomi.laabs@st-andrew-online.org or (920) 277-4633.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

College mailing
There are nearly 40 college students that attend St. Andrew. We have a team that encourages them, prays for them, and helps keep them connected to St. Andrew and their Savior Jesus. Our first school-year mailing got out this week. Please pray that God watches over our college students and that they remain in his Word.

Small Talk podcast
“Let the little children come to me.” Livy talks about these precious words of Jesus on a new episode of Small Talk. Listen to Small Talk here or search for “Kamin Small Talk” wherever you listen to podcasts.

Impact podcast
In Luke 9, Jesus gives his followers or would-be followers lessons to think about. They are lessons also for us to think about. Missionary Matthew Doebler is our guest this week for part two of this conversation which culminates in seeing Jesus as the faithful one. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

Children’s ministry
God is very concerned about the next generation. He wants them to know his love, to learn from his Word, and to be equipped to live in a world that goes its own way. That is why St. Andrew has so many ministries for children. They include FUEL, Spark, LifeBoat, PETT, Plugged into Jesus, Musikgarten, and PowerHour. If you have children up to high school age, these vitally important ministries are for your children. Pray for them and use them to help you bring your children up to follow Jesus.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Service opportunity for friendly people
We are creating two new teams of people to connect with our guests in worship. If you like meeting new people, conversing in person, or even connecting via email or text, this is a great opportunity for you. Contact Pastor Clinton to get involved.

Monthly Mission Partner
Our October partner is WayForward Resources, a local organization that provides several social services to the western Dane County area, most notably, a large food pantry. Find more information about WayForward at their website or view a video from their executive director.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Forensics at its best
Some students from Westside Christian School participated in a forensics meet last Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran School. The students performed their selections two different times to two different judges. After they completed their presentations, they spoke with the judges to get immediate feedback. All the WCS students performed well and should be very proud of what they accomplished! Thanks to the coaches and the parents!
