This Week
What does it take to finish well?
The answer to that question depends on who you are and what you’re finishing: an athlete finishing a competition, a student finishing a degree, or a musician finishing a piece. Think bigger. What about your life? It’s a long life. What are you going to do to finish well? The book of Acts ends with little attention to how the apostle Paul finished his life. Paul’s life isn’t the point of Acts. Jesus’ life is. Yet, we know from letters of Paul how he finished. Read 2 Timothy 4 to find out. This Thursday or Sunday, gather with brothers and sisters who want to learn from God’s Word how to finish well.

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention
“Thanks be to God”
One way we thank God for his physical gifts is by sharing them with others. This Thanksgiving, we can do that through MOM (Middleton Outreach Ministry). Find the Top Ten list of most helpful items here. On their website you can also find clothing most needed. Please take your gifts either directly to MOM, or bring them to St. Andrew on Thursday or Sunday, November 17 & 20. Members of The Love of Christ (TLC) Care Ministry will box up the items and take them to MOM at 10:30 AM on Sunday, November 20.
MOM’s top 10 most needed items
1. Pancake mix
2. Gluten-free cereals (Honey Nut Cheerios, Cheerios, Rice Chex)
3. Saltine crackers or no-salt crackers
4. Peanuts (lightly salted or no salt)
5. Clif Bars or Kind Bars
6. Laundry detergent
7. Liquid hand soap
8. Liquid dish soap
9. Baby wipes
10. Period products (maxi pads)
Victory
Our brother John Glaeser went to be with the Lord in glory on Wednesday morning. He died as he lived, clinging to the promises of Jesus. Funeral arrangements are being made and will be available in his obituary.

Worship
Resources and opportunities for you to worship
Thanksgiving worship | Grateful for Grace
In September a new song based on Philippians 4 was released. “ Rejoice” reminds us that, in every season, we have every reason to praise the Lord. That truth is an anthem for life, but especially this November. Give the song a listen and then join this “family of grace” for Thanksgiving worship as we give thanks to the Creator of all things.
- Wednesday, November 23, 6:30 PM (livestream available)
- Thursday, November 24, 9:00 AM
(no Thursday evening worship)
Children’s Christmas Program rehearsals
Sunday, December 4, at 2:30 PM, the children of St. Andrew and Westside Christian School will present their Christmas program at the Middleton Performing Arts Center. There are a few important rehearsals coming up for those participating:
- Tuesday, November 29, 6 – 7 PM, at St. Andrew (grades 2 – 8 only)
- Saturday, December 3, at the Middleton PAC
- 9:00 – 9:30 AM—Pre-K3 – grade 1
- 9:30 – 11:00 AM—grades 2 – 8
If your child is interested in participating in the program but has not received the practice materials, please contact Minister of Nurture Mark Kjenstad.
Singing opportunities
Blend your voice with others for two upcoming services. The Adult Choir will rehearse at 7 PM on Wednesdays to sing for worship on the following dates:
- Christmas Eve worship (1, 3, 5 PM)—rehearsals will be December 7, 14, 21
- Pastor Kreuziger’s installation, Sunday, January 8 (8 & 10:30 AM)—rehearsal will be January 4
High-school-age and older are welcome to attend. Questions? Email Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs.
Christmas decorating
The sanctuary and atrium will be decorated for Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend. There are a few opportunities to get involved. This Sunday, November 20, following 10:30 AM worship, we will go across the street and get all the decorations out of storage and bring them over to church. Sunday, November 27, following 10:30 AM worship, the trees, sanctuary, and atrium will be decorated. Contact Visual Arts Team Lead Sue Martalock or Naomi Laabs for more information.
Milestones
Liam Daniel Kazmierski, son of Laura and Alex, was born last Sunday. Baby and mom are healthy and home. We look forward to the blessings of new life the Spirit will grant Liam through Holy Baptism on November 27.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Advent by Candlelight returns
Women of all ages are invited to attend Advent by Candlelight, a faith-building and faith-encouraging service. Mark your calendars for December 11 at 6:30 PM, and watch for sign-up information. Christmas is coming, and this special night with God’s Word will help our hearts be in the right place.
Spring Growth Group hosting opportunity
St. Andrew Growth Groups give people a chance to spend time with God’s Word and God’s people. Some groups meet on Sunday morning, but others meet during the week. Perhaps you would like to host a group in your home during the week. Don’t worry, you don’t need to host the group until Jesus returns. Eight weeks of hosting, give or take, will serve the purpose well. Also, hosts don’t have to lead the group. Hosts provide the group a place to meet and coordinate whose turn it is to bring the chips and salsa or whatever delicacies sound good. To learn more about this opportunity, contact Mr. KJ.
Impact
The great Christian enemy Saul became the great Christian missionary Paul. How was that possible? Listen to Dr. Glen Thompson talk about the conversion of the apostle Paul in Acts 9. You can find Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”
Children’s ministries
Bring your child to a Sunday morning nurture ministry. This week’s Plugged into Jesus and Spark lesson is how Solomon asked God for a great gift—wisdom. We can all learn from Solomon’s God-pleasing choice.
- Musikgarten | for parents (or a caregiver) and their child up to age 3 (9:20 AM)
- Plugged into Jesus | Pre-K3 – grade 5 (9:20 AM)
- Spark | grades 6 – 8 (9:30 AM)
All who attend grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the love he has for them. These important ministries also lay a foundation for developing lives of faithful service to our gracious Lord. No registration is required.
FUEL
Are all sins equal in God’s eyes, or does God rate them accordingly? We will discuss this on Sunday. FUEL is a high-school-age St. Andrew Growth Group that meets Sundays at 9:30 AM. Encourage your teen to be an active member of this faith-building group.
