This Week

Thanking God for people he puts in our lives
Last weekend we pondered significant moments in our lives and God’s hand for us in them. Ahead of the coming weekend, consider specific individuals in your life for whom you are thankful. Then, join with your family in Christ to study Paul’s thankfulness in Philippians 1:3-11. Worship Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Highlights

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Call meeting
Westside Christian School needs to fill some classrooms with teachers next year. With that in mind, there will be a call meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 5:30 PM in room 110. Hope to see you there!

Pastor call meeting November 30
Our next call meeting will be Sunday, November 30, at 12:00 PM. After discussion of the role and of the candidates provided by District President Mike Jensen, the voters of St. Andrew will choose one to whom we will extend a call. While voters are male communicant members, all are invited to participate in the discussion about the ministry needs of St. Andrew and how the candidates might serve them.

A Place of Peace

Updates related to the ministry expansion and building project

Construction update
Masonry work will begin this week on the exterior of the building and continue for the next few weeks. Keep an eye on the top of the northwest corner of the new building to start seeing the bricks being laid. Inside the new building, underground work will be completed this week, and the concrete slab will be poured next week. You may have noticed some of the ceiling in the current atrium is missing. Many connections will need to run through those openings from the current building to the new building, so that will remain open for a while.

A Place of Peace giving
Giving can be set up like other offerings. Go to “Give” at the website, and you can set up a one-time or recurring gift. Choose “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund.” If using a check, please put “A Place of Peace” in the memo line. If using St. Andrew offering envelopes, use the designation “Ministry Expansion.”

Even if you didn’t make a formal pledge, you can still give. Every bit helps, as St. Andrew will still carry some debt, and the less debt, the more ministry.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Last weekend, St. Andrew observed milestones of service for five called workers:

  • Naomi Laabs, 20 years, 12 as Minister of Worship at St. Andrew
  • Tammy Mielke, 15 years, 4 as Westside Christian School teacher
  • Jessica Bohl, 10 years, 2 as Westside Christian School teacher
  • Clinton Kreuziger, 10 years, 3 as Pastor for Service & Outreach at St. Andrew
  • Jack Murphy, 5 years as Westside Christian School teacher

These individuals have faithfully served in the ministry of the gospel. May God bless their continued ministry to us and our community.

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Forward in Christ and Meditations
There are new issues in the atrium of Forward in Christ and Meditations. Please help yourself. In this month’s Forward in Christ:

  • St. Andrew member Jane Dew tells about how an invitation to Thanksgiving dinner redirected a family’s entire future.
  • The incredible story of God’s plan for a young man to pursue becoming a pastor.
  • Does God really listen to my prayers?

Parents’ Night Out
FUEL is our St. Andrew high school Growth Group, and they are offering parents a night out while they watch your children. Here are details:

November 15 | 4:00 – 8:00 PM | St. Andrew gym
Children from 3 – 10 years old are welcome.
Chick-fil-A is donating food to feed the kids.
Click here to sign your child(ren) up.

There is no charge, but they are accepting a donation toward their expenses for the 2026 WELS Youth Rally in July.

Impact
This week’s episode is a familiar Old Testament true story that has one of Scripture’s all-time lines. Our guest to talk us through it is Pastor Nate Wordell, campus pastor at Wisconsin Lutheran College. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

LifeBoat this Sunday
LifeBoat returns Sunday, November 16. LifeBoat is a middle school ministry with the goals of helping grow their relationship with Jesus and helping strengthen their Christian friendships through games, lessons from Scripture, and worship music. LifeBoat meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in the gym from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Parents, if you would like to help with supervision, go here. To help with a snack donation, go here for more details.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Service opportunity for friendly people
We are creating two new teams of people to connect with our guests in worship. If you like meeting new people, conversing in person, or even connecting via email or text, this is a great opportunity for you. Contact Pastor Clinton to get involved.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these”
Throughout November, we are collecting warm clothing and other items to donate to people being released from jail in the winter. Please place donations on the designated table in the atrium.

New or gently used winter apparel that is clean, rip-free, and stain-free:

  • Men’s and women’s winter coats, size L – 4XL
  • Pants, sweatpants, and athletic pants, size M – 3XL
  • Shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts, size M – 3XL
  • Hats, scarves, blankets, gloves, shoes, and boots of all sizes

In their original packaging:

  • Socks
  • Men’s and women’s underwear
  • Toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, and shampoo

Monthly Mission Partner
Our November partner is Kingdom Workers, a national nonprofit organization whose goal is to address the physical and spiritual concerns of communities. They are perhaps best known for two programs: Builders for Christ and Jesus Cares. Find more information about Kingdom Workers at kingdomworkers.com.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Veterans Day celebration
Westside Christian School welcomed some very special guests to our campus on November 11. We had 16 military veterans and 3 active-duty service members join us for a brief program. The WCS band played the Star-Spangled Banner, the veterans taught the students how to fold the flag while they explained each fold, and we were able to properly thank all of our service members. What a blessing to have these men and women in our midst for part of the morning!
