This Sunday

Noble character
We don’t use the word noble like the British, referring to dukes and duchesses or barons and baronesses. When we describe a person as noble, it gives pause. What do we mean? The apostle Paul and his missionary entourage entered a Greek city named Berea where they encountered people whom Dr. Luke described in Acts 17:11 as “noble-minded.” Read about Paul’s time in Berea (Acts 17:10-15) and join your brothers and sisters to pursue the same characteristic: noble-minded.

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Divine call
From Mr. Kjenstad: Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers as I deliberate the two calls before me. The Holy Spirit is leading me through the call process which gives me confidence in the upcoming decision.Family devotions
If you have children at home, the most important thing you give them is Jesus. WELS has a resource to help you do that. Click here to learn more. Getting in a habit of having devotions at home is a challenge but so worth the time and effort. If you want help with this, reach out to Mr. Kjenstad.

Impact
Paul asks a lot of rhetorical questions in his letter to the Romans. Here’s one in chapter six: Since God delights in forgiving us, should we let sin loose in our lives? His answer: by no means! Listen to Impact for more on this terrific chapter from this key book in Scripture. Click here for Impact, or find it where you listen to podcasts. Search “Kjenstad Impact.” Impact is new every Monday, and all past episodes are available.

PowerHour
There will be no PowerHour on March 18. It will resume on April 1. PowerHour is a fun-filled learning hour for parents/caregivers and their children ages 1 – 3. PowerHour happens at 10:30 AM on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month in our gymnasium. Each PowerHour includes playtime, fun stories, sing-along songs, and a message from Jesus. The parents and children who attend truly enjoy PowerHour each week. Ellen Soukup and Shelly Schmoller do a fantastic job as leaders of this enrichment ministry. Who can you tell about St. Andrew PowerHour?

Musikgarten
There is no Musikgarten this week, but it will return on March 20. Questions about this ministry? Contact Karen Hong.

Plugged into Jesus
Talk as a family about paybacks. Tell ways that Jesus has blessed you instead of paying you back for your sins against him. This week’s lesson is “A Basket of Hope: Moses is Born.” Bring friends! Plugged into Jesus is Sunday mornings at 9:20 AM for Pre-K – grade 5. Use this link to watch the Bible teaching video. Questions? Contact Jane Dew.

Spark
When do you feel safe? This week, learn how God kept Moses safe for a great plan. Grades 6 – 8 meet at 9:30 AM on Sundays for Bible study, life application, and activities. Contact Lance Hill with questions.

FUEL
Are you familiar with the Ministry of the Keys? It is authority from Jesus to the Church having to do with forgiveness. At FUEL on Sunday, St. Andrew high school students will learn when and how to use what key. FUEL meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM.

Dear Brothers and Sisters at St. Andrew Lutheran Church,

I thank you again for extending this call to me to serve you and God’s people at St. Andrew. The ministry that is going on there is exciting and reaching many people! This call process has been a humbling and, at the same time, an exciting process for my family and me. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, for the input that you shared, and for the prayers that you have spoken on my behalf and the ministry of your church.

After much careful thought, prayer, and deliberation, I have decided to return this call and will continue to serve God’s people at Divine Savior in Liberty Hill, Texas. I pray that God continue to bless you and your ministry with the confidence that he is the Lord of the Church directing all things according to his good will and purpose.

In Jesus,
Pastor Stephen Apt

Call meeting
We will hold a special Voters’ meeting at 11:45 AM on Sunday, March 27, to extend a call to a pastor to serve as our Pastor for Service and Outreach. Everyone is invited to join in the prayers, input, and discussion before the Voters and receive their influence. The Voters will then exercise authority on behalf of all of us and choose a candidate to call.

March Monthly Mission Partner | Middleton Outreach Ministries
Each month we select a ministry that is outside of St. Andrew to support with our gifts and to be remembered in our prayers. This month we partner with Middleton Outreach Ministries who has been an instrumental resource to our community, serving with not only a food and clothing pantry, but a social service agency helping many with rent and utility assistance.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Call received
Mrs. Ashley Renstrom has received a call to serve at Peace Lutheran School in Hartford, Wisconsin. Currently, Mrs. Renstrom is one of the first grade teachers at our ministry of Westside Christian School. Please keep her and her husband in your prayers as they determine where Ashley will feed Jesus’ lambs.

Paraprofessional teacher
Westside Christian School participates in the Special Needs Scholarship Program, which allows students who have an active IEP or services plan the opportunity to attend a Christian school. We are looking to add a paraprofessional teacher for the 2022 – 2023 school year who would work one-on-one with students to support them with academic learning tasks and provide sensory breaks. Candidates preferably have specific training related to supporting the education of students with special needs. Contact Meredith Pucci for further information and to receive a complete position description.

Classroom assistants
Westside Christian School is looking at adding additional classroom assistants for the 2022 – 2023 school year. Classroom assistants support our lead teachers by preparing materials, working with small groups of students on instructional tasks, and supervising students at recess. Positions can be either full-time or part-time. Candidates ideally have a minimum of one year working with children in an educational setting, demonstrate a willingness to cooperate with other adults, and a joy for supporting students of all ages. Contact Meredith Pucci for further information and to receive a complete position description.
