This Sunday
The case for Christianity
During World War II, Christian author C.S. Lewis delivered a series of informal radio addresses titled “The Case for Christianity.” Through these talks he intended to bring hope to an embattled public. He wasn’t the first, though, to present the compelling argument for the reasonableness of Christian faith. Two thousand years ago, the apostle Paul faced a skeptical crowd in Athens and reasoned with them. Our times are no less skeptical of the claims of Christ than people were 2,000 years ago, or 70 years ago. You know people who are skeptical of the claims of Christ. Maybe you’re one of them. The book of Acts is God’s answer. Read about Paul’s encounter in Athens in Acts 17:16-34. Join your brothers and sisters to find hope and confidence in the case for Christ.

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Divine call
From Mr. Kjenstad: After nearly four weeks of prayers and reflection, I have returned the call I received to serve at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Brillion, Wisconsin. Thank you for your prayers. Jessica and I appreciate all of the encouragement you gave us as we considered where to serve our gracious Lord. Please join me in praying that God will send a servant in his time to our brothers and sisters in Brillion.
Bible reading guide
For help with the struggles of life, there is no greater resource than your Bible. The Bible speaks to your need. However, knowing where to look is a challenge. For help, pick up the Bible reading guide in the atrium.
Five-minute family devotions
Getting in a habit of having devotions at home with your children is a challenge, but so worth the time and effort. There is nothing greater to give your children than opportunities to grow in their faith. Here is a new book to check out. God bless the time you spend with your family in his Word.
Impact
The ministry of Jesus did not end when he was nailed to the cross. His ministry continued with fascinating words spoken while being crucified. Listen to Professor Stephen Geiger from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary provide meaning behind these “final” words of Jesus. Click here for Impact, or find it where you listen to podcasts. Search “St. Andrew Impact.”
Resurrection Eggs: A family Easter project
You’ve heard of the twelve days of Christmas . . . why not twelve days of Easter? Look for your Resurrection Egg kit in the atrium this weekend. Each day for twelve days, families will add a found item to an egg as listed in the instructions. Use the Scriptures to teach the truths of salvation to family and friends. This kit is a gift from Plugged into Jesus to families with kids ages Pre-K3 – grade 5.

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Easter breakfast
Easter is quickly approaching. After a two-year break, we will again be able to enjoy Easter breakfast prepared by Chef Kevin Ostrand and his kitchen crew headed up by Sous-Chef Caryn Ostrand. As much as we all look forward to enjoying a good Ostrand Easter breakfast, we anticipate more the joy and hope provided by the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Invite your neighbors and friends to join you in celebrating the empty tomb and Easter breakfast served from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
If you would like to assist with Easter breakfast in one of the following ways, please sign up here.

Building updates
St. Andrew, you are the proud owners of two new gym heating/cooling units. The old units exceeded their life expectancy by five years, so we’re grateful for that. The cost was $36,000. Mike Eberle and his team continue to wrap up the building addition. The final costs appear to be just under $3.1 million, over $100,000 under the authorized amount. Last week, key contractors did “owner training” and handed over the operating manuals to us. The punch list has a few more items (warranty items), and we are still waiting on a few permanent doors and hardware. No date has been given for their arrival and installation. This spring, Kraemer Brothers construction will do some minor grading to better direct runoff from the downspout to the retention pond.

Westside Christian School
A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word
Returned call
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement as I deliberated the two calls placed before me. After many conversations and much prayer, I have decided to return the call to Peace Lutheran School in Hartford, Wisconsin. I look forward to continuing to serve here at Westside Christian School and St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Please keep Peace Lutheran School and Church in your prayers and ask God to send the right people to serve those students.
In Christ,
Ashley Renstrom
Art Gala
Stop by the St. Andrew gym on the evening of April 1 for the WCS Art Gala! It is no April Fools’ joke that you will see a variety of masterpieces created by our kindergarten through 8th grade students. The collection represents both two- and three-dimensional art created in the styles of Faith Ringgold, Henri Matisse, Dale Chihuly, Pablo Picasso, and many more. Which display do you think will be your favorite? The Art Gala is from 5:30 – 7:00 PM and will be up for viewing through 11:30 AM on Sunday, April 3.
Paraprofessional teacher
Westside Christian School participates in the Special Needs Scholarship Program, which allows students who have an active IEP or services plan the opportunity to attend a Christian school. We are looking to add a paraprofessional teacher for the 2022 – 2023 school year who would work one-on-one with students to support them with academic learning tasks and provide sensory breaks. Candidates preferably have specific training related to supporting the education of students with special needs. Contact Meredith Pucci for further information and to receive a complete position description.
Classroom Assistants
Westside Christian School is looking at adding additional classroom assistants for the 2022 – 2023 school year. Classroom assistants support our lead teachers by preparing materials, working with small groups of students on instructional tasks, and supervising students at recess. Positions can be either full-time or part-time. Candidates ideally have a minimum of one year working with children in an educational setting, demonstrate a willingness to cooperate with other adults, and find joy in supporting students of all ages. Contact Meredith Pucci for further information and to receive a complete position description. |
