This Sunday

Troublemakers in the world
When you read that heading, whom do you think of? You have plenty to choose from! In Acts 17:1-9, people describe Christian missionaries as people who stir up trouble all over the world. Would you agree? Read about Paul’s arrival in the Greek city of Thessalonica in Acts 17:1-9, then join your fellow troublemakers in church on Thursday at 7 PM or Sunday at 8 or 10:30 AM for training in how to stir up trouble.

Wednesday Lent devotions | TONIGHT at 5 & 6:30 PM
Tonight, March 2, we begin the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday. Join your brothers and sisters for a half hour evening devotion at 5:00 (this service will be live streamed) or 6:30 PM. We’ll sing, pray, and learn from Peter as he prays with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Divine call
From Mr. Kjenstad: Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers as I deliberate the two calls before me. The Holy Spirit is leading me through the call process which gives me confidence in the upcoming decision.

Welcome to St. Andrew
We are so pleased to welcome Karl, Sarah, and Marie Kuschel; Dick Smith; and Dave Nixon into our St. Andrew family. To God be the glory, great things he has done!

Passion Points of View | Wednesday Lent devotions
Who doesn’t wish you could have witnessed the events of Jesus’ life? Because Jesus took on a human body to become our Savior, he can’t be available at all times for all people to see. Human bodies have limitations. Yet, eyewitness accounts survive. People were there. Spend a half hour each Wednesday at 5 or 6:30 PM for the six weeks before Good Friday and Easter to see and hear from their points of view.

·  March 2: Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane
·  March 9: John as Jesus was arrested
·  March16: Joseph of Arimathea and Jesus’ trial
·  March 23: Barabbas and Jesus before Pilate
·  March 30: Mary, the mother of Jesus, at the foot of the cross
·  April 6: Nicodemus burying Jesus

Easter flower orders
We are already anticipating the resurrection of our Lord on Easter Sunday! If you would like to help decorate the sanctuary for Easter with the purchase of Easter flowers, please place your order by March 20. You can do so by filling out the online form here or by picking up an order form at the Welcome Center. Flowers can be taken home following Easter worship on April 17.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Family devotions
If you have children at home, the most important thing you give them is Jesus. WELS has a resource to help you do that. Click here to learn more. Getting in a habit of having devotions at home is a challenge, but so worth the time and effort. If you want help with this, reach out to Mr. Kjenstad.

PowerHour
“Fruits and Vegetables” is the theme for the next PowerHour which is this Friday at 10:30 AM. This fun-filled learning hour is for parents/caregivers and their children from age 1 to 3. PowerHour happens at 10:30 AM on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month in our gymnasium. Each PowerHour includes playtime, fun stories, sing-along songs, and a message from Jesus. After our closing song, each child gets a snack to-go. Tell others about St. Andrew PowerHour!

Impact
The true story of David and Goliath is not just a story for Sunday School kids. It teaches all of us about our powerful God. Click here for Impact, or find it where you listen to podcasts. Search “Kjenstad Impact.” Impact is new every Monday, and all past episodes are available.

Musikgarten
It’s time to dance! Bring an infant or toddler you love to Muikgarten this Sunday at 9:20 AM. Experience music and rhythm with an infant or toddler in your care. Questions? Contact Karen Hong.

Plugged into Jesus
Encourage your kids to draw a dream they’ve had and talk about it. This week’s lesson is “A Family Reunites: God Helps Joseph Forgive.” There is room for friends! Plugged into Jesus meets on Sundays at 9:20 AM. Use this link to watch the Bible teaching video. Questions? Contact Jane Dew.

Spark
When is it hard to forgive? This week, learn with Joseph about forgiving. Grades 6 – 8 will meet this Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible study, life application and activities. Contact Lance Hill with questions.

FUEL
The next topic for FUEL is forgiveness. Here is a way to think about forgiveness and fuel: God’s forgiveness for us is fueled by the life and death of Jesus. And our forgiving of others is fueled by God’s forgiving us. We’ll discuss this and more starting Sunday. FUEL is for all St. Andrew high school students and meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Call
Pastor Stephen Apt has not yet made a decision on our call to serve among us. Please continue to pray for him and his wife, “Spirit and Lord of the Church, please guide your servant Stephen to serve where you have determined is best for your kingdom.”

Mask mandate expires
The PHMDC mask mandate for indoor gatherings in Dane County has expired. According to our policy, we will no longer require masks in our worship services or events in our building. Some will choose to continue to wear a mask for their own reasons. Some will choose to not wear a mask for their reasons. Such things are matters of Christian freedom and we, in grace, accept each other regardless of those decisions. Praise God for our great unity in Christ, and for hearts to accept each other’s decisions about masks.

March Monthly Mission Partner | Middleton Outreach Ministries
Each month we select a ministry that is outside of St. Andrew to support with our gifts and to be remembered in our prayers. This month we partner with Middleton Outreach Ministries who has been an instrumental resource to our community, serving with not only a food and clothing pantry, but a social service agency helping many with rent and utility assistance.
