This Week

Standards
Everyone has standards. Some have double standards. Read Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:17-26, and you’ll know that the Son of God upholds standards and the penalties for not living up to them. He says something alarming in verse 20, but he also gives us a solution. Hint: it’s not getting rid of all our standards. Join us for worship on Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

St. Andrew Science Camp
Science Camp is back. This summer campers will learn about God’s creatures, great and small. There will be lessons from God’s Word, experiments, snacks, and more. Science Camp is July 14-17 from 8:30 – 11:30 AM and is open to kindergarten – grade 6. Register here. When you register note the special opportunity for grades 5-6.

Impact Podcast
The life of Joseph is much, much more than a rags-to-riches inspirational tale. It is a true story highlighting the presence and grace of God in the lives of his people. Pastor Jon Bilitz, Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel, is here to help us see God’s unseen and steady hand guiding Joseph every step of the way. Listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

PowerHour
The next PowerHour is April 4 with a fun theme of “Habitats of the World.” New friends are always welcome. PowerHour is at 10:15 AM in the gym. Go here to learn more about this ministry for children.

Sunday Children’s Ministries
After a one-week break, Plugged into Jesus and Musikgarten return on Sunday. These ministries, along with Spark for middle school and FUEL for high school students, help establish a Biblical foundation on which to build. Children Ministry Director Yvonne Onsager is happy to answer all of your questions.

LifeBoat
We are docking the boat for a short break. LifeBoat will return on April 6 at 5:00. Contact Jessica Bohl or Hilary Griswold with your questions.

Service opportunity | Brat Fest
St. Andrew will again be a Brat Fest charity. Volunteers interact with the community and earn donations for St. Andrew’s ministry. Opportunities are from May 18 – 25, and registration begins April 5. Find more information about Brat Fest at bratfest.com.

Monthly Mission Partner
Our March partner is GiGi’s Playhouse, a Down syndrome achievement center in Madison. Down syndrome is very rare, but its population among the St. Andrew family is well above the average. GiGi’s recently sent a video to share some of what they do and express their gratitude.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Grandparent’s Day
Last Wednesday, March 12, the students of 4K and kindergarten hosted their grandparents for part of the morning. We had over 70 grandparents that came and were entertained in a variety of ways. The grandparents and grandchildren spent some time in the gym having a snack and meeting other grandparents. Overall, the morning with grandparents was a huge success!

Call update
Dr. Tammy Mielke continues to hold her call to Whiteriver, Arizona. She is being called to serve in the middle school and teach English Language Arts.

We called Miss Michele Diener for the second class of grade 3 next year. We also called Mrs. Sarah Durkee to replace Mrs. Krista Simmons. Mrs. Simmons has resigned her call for next year as she is expecting in early June.
