This Week
Ham prayer
As in the pork product? Yes, that ham. Well, not really, but 2500 years ago, a man addressed the God of heaven with seemingly incompatible components. Find out what kind of mnemonic the holiday meat can be to help us pray the way Daniel did. Worship together on Thursday at 7 PM or Sunday morning at 8 AM or 10:30 AM.

E-mail scams
Please be on your guard for phishing emails that appear to come from called workers and staff of St. Andrew. If anything appears suspicious, do not respond to it; just delete it like you would other spam. Oh, and we won’t send you an email asking for your help in buying gift cards or getting out of a foreign jail. Such is our world.
Call meeting
The St. Andrew Board of Directors has scheduled a voters’ meeting on March 21 at 6 PM in the sanctuary to call a 1st grade teacher for Westside Christian School.

Maundy Thursday Seder meal | April 6 at 6 PM
Take advantage of a unique opportunity this year: celebrate a Passover meal at St. Andrew on Maundy Thursday. Learn some of the symbolism of the ancient eder meal. See Christ in the Passover. Taste the traditional food of men and women waiting for the realization of the promise of deliverance. Enjoy the fellowship of your own family in Christ, including the Lord’s Supper, which Jesus instituted during Passover. And maybe learn a few Hebrew words. Many people are already preparing to help you experience this event. To help them, register here by April 2. You will receive further instructions via email.
Easter flower orders
We are already anticipating the resurrection of our Lord on Easter Sunday! If you would like to help decorate the sanctuary for Easter with the purchase of Easter flowers, please place your order by March 24. You can do so by filling out the online form here. Flowers can be taken home following Easter worship on April 9.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.
Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship this weekend. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Call update
Mr. Kjenstad is still deliberating his call to serve at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and School in Overland Park, Kansas. Please pray that the Lord leads him to a peaceful and God-pleasing decision. You are encouraged to send your thoughts to Mr. Kjenstad, or speak with him in person.
College ministry team
The St. Andrew college ministry team sent a care package to each of our 37 college students. Please say a prayer for our college students that our Lord keeps them faithful to Jesus and his Word, that he keeps his caring eyes upon them, and that he gives them opportunities to witness the love of Christ.
Impact
Revelation 5 is a gospel-loaded chapter that gives honor to the Lamb who was slain for you. Listen to part two with Pastor Erich Schaser from Fox Valley Lutheran High School. Upcoming Impact episodes include Body and Soul at Death, The Passover Lamb, and The Road to Emmaus. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.” Here are past episodes on Jesus’ seven words from the cross that fit nicely into Lent: part 1 and part 2.
PowerHour
PowerHour will not meet March 17 or April 7. It will return on April 21. For more on PowerHour, click here.
Children’s ministries return
FUEL, Spark, Plugged into Jesus, and Musikgarten return this Sunday, March 19. The Bible lesson in Spark and PIJ takes us back into II Kings to learn about King Josiah leading the people back to God’s Word. All of these ministries lay a foundation for our children upon which to build their lives. As Jesus said, “The wise man built his house on a rock.”

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Thanks to our chefs
We are halfway through our Lent services, so let’s thank our first three Wednesday night chefs:
- Noemi Reyes, with much help from her family, served a delicious meal of chicken and rice with pico de gallo and corn. Ash Wednesday was snowy and icy, but the Reyes family powered through and adjusted for the numbers admirably. Thank you.
- Kallista Fischer, with husband Dan by her side, got in touch with her inner BBQ and fed us pulled pork, mac and cheese, and salad, while the kids demolished the homemade cookies. Thank you.
- Last week, Denise and Joe Henningfield, certified expert rural home cookers, treated us to a hearty dinner of beef and pork with gravy, mashed potatoes, and corn. Oh, and cupcakes. Thank you.
The second half of the Lent meal lineup is just as promising, so please join us after or before Lent service. Dinner is served from 5:30 – 6:15 PM.
Serve hospitality
In an effort to enhance the homelike atmosphere of St. Andrew worship, the Hospitality team is reassembling. Do you have ideas for how to maintain that comfortable experience? Are you able to make coffee? Set out or serve snacks? Do some basic cleaning and tidying? Are you willing to learn? Then the Hospitality team is for you. Contact Pastor Clinton to get involved.
Monthly Mission Partner | 2023 St. Andrew Mission Trips
This summer you have an opportunity to grow in faith, encourage others, and share in the love of Jesus through various acts of service by participating in a Mission Trip. Find the details and apply at the St. Andrew website. The video below is a preview of each 2023 Mission Trip.
|
|
Not everyone will go on a trip, but you can still support this ministry as the March Monthly Mission Partner. Your act of service will help keep the cost down for those giving up their time to go to work for a congregation with limited human resources but lots of opportunity.
