This Week

On December 7, 1972, we saw our planet for the first time from outer space. All of a sudden, we were able to see our planet for what it really is. The second half of Romans 5 is like that. It lets us see our planet and our lives from God’s perspective. Read Romans 5:12-21 and look for our ruin, our rescue, and our reign. Then gather with brothers and sisters in faith to find the best news ever.

Easter flower orders due Friday
We are already anticipating the resurrection of our Lord on Easter Sunday! If you would like to help decorate the sanctuary for Easter with the purchase of Easter flowers, please place your order by this Friday, March 15. You can do so by filling out the online form here. Flowers can be taken home following Easter worship on March 31.

Milestones
Blakelee Kay Thibo was born on March 27 to Brianna (Johnson) and Tyler Thibo. Mom and baby are healthy and home. The Thibos are getting used to being a family of three.

Mattias Jonathan Fricke was born on March 28 to Paige (Hunter) and Jonathan Fricke. Older siblings Margo and Simeon are happy to welcome him into their family.

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Spring break
There will be no children’s ministries on Sunday, March 17. That includes Musikgarten, Plugged into Jesus, and Spark. All will return on March 24. Safe travels to all who are hitting the road!

FUEL
Easter Sunday provides an excellent opportunity for St. Andrew high school students to serve our Savior. Click here to see what is available and to join the team for Easter breakfast.

Nurture resource
Do you have a college student in your life? Here is a suggestion. Buy them this devotion book as an Easter present. These devotions were written by college students for college students. It is a much better gift than a chocolate bunny. On second thought, how about you buy them both?

Impact
The book of Ruth is a beautiful love story, but so much more. Dr. Mark Paustian from Martin Luther College is here to lead us into this true story that highlights the faithfulness of God. You can listen to Impact here or wherever you find podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

PowerHour
Children up to age 3 and their caregivers are invited to the next PowerHour. Join us on Friday, March 15, at 10:30 AM in the St. Andrew gym. The theme is “Habitats of the World.” Click here for more information on PowerHour.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Easter meal assistance
Serve by helping St. Andrew put on a great Easter breakfast. Help enhance the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection through fellowship. Sign up here.

Donut deliverer
Our usual bakery runner will be out of town March 17 and 24. The task can be done on your way to 8:00 worship. It will take you about 20 minutes “out of your way.” If you would like to step in, contact Pastor Clinton.

Service opportunity | Palm Sunday piece
Our Palm Sunday Cross Peace piece will be the palm branch folded into a cross. If you would like to help form these crosses (it’s easy, and tutorials/instructions are available), please contact Pastor Clinton. We will do this late during the week of March 17 and/or Sunday morning, March 24.

Service opportunity | Brat Fest
St. Andrew will again be a Brat Fest charity this Memorial Day weekend. Volunteers will interact with the community and earn donations for St. Andrew’s mission trips. The sign-up goes live on Friday, March 15. Just go to bratfest.com and sign up via the Bloomerang platform. Opportunities across several days abound, but they are filled on a first come, first served basis. Make sure to enter St. Andrew as your charity. Contact minimissions@st-andrew-online.org with any questions.

Service opportunity | Culver’s Share Night
Mark April 23 on your calendar for an opportunity to raise mission trip funds through Culver’s Share Night. Both patrons and volunteers will be essential. More information to come.

Monthly Mission Partner
Down syndrome affects only about 1 in 1500 (about the same percentage as a male being at least 6’6” or a female being at least 6’). This means Down syndrome is extremely overrepresented in the St. Andrew family. Our March Partner is GiGi’s Playhouse, a Down syndrome achievement center in Madison. Find more information about this organization’s activity at their website and/or watch the video below.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Call meeting
St. Andrew has a wonderful opportunity to call the wife of our new principal, Mrs. Beth Plath, to serve as a teacher in our ministry of Westside Christian School. Mrs. Plath is highly regarded, and her preferences for teaching fit the 3rd grade teacher position left vacant by Ms. Gnewuch’s acceptance of a call to Simpsonville, South Carolina. The Board of Directors will convene a special voters’ meeting at 11:45 AM on Sunday, March 24, with one agenda item: extending a call to Mrs. Plath to teach 3rd grade. All are welcome to attend.
