This Week
Your name fits
The name Daniel means in Hebrew, “God is my judge.” The name fits. Read Daniel 6 and learn how Daniel cared little if his friends judged him for his talent, if King Darius judged him for his faithfulness to God, or if the lions judged him as tasty. God was his judge. He knew it and he lived like it. You have names like his. Jesus, in his sermon on the mount, declared you are salt, you are light, and you are blessed when people falsely speak evil about you. Why? You’re his. But you’re not alone. Gather with others who know they are God’s people to revel in our identity, praise God for it, and learn together how to live like it. It’s such an attractive way to live; others might gain the same names just by watching you. We worship on Thursdays at 7 PM and on Sundays at 8 & 10:30 AM.

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention
Call received
On Sunday afternoon, I received a call to serve as a staff minister and principal at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and School in Overland Park, Kansas. As I consider the calls to serve St. Andrew and Mt. Olive, I appreciate your prayers and words of guidance and encouragement. Jessica and I, along with Ryen and Reah, trust our gracious Lord to guide these deliberations and bring to us a peaceful decision.

Save the date for Koiné
We all tend to look ahead to summer during these long winter months. As you make your summer plans, mark your calendars for Sunday, July 23. The worship band Koiné, who is celebrating 20 years of making music in 2023, is coming to St. Andrew as part of their anniversary tour. Koiné will serve as the music team for both Sunday services, and then they will put on an afternoon concert that will include music from some of St. Andrew’s finest. It will be a fun day you won’t want to miss! Watch for more details.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
St. Andrew Sports Camp
After a good four-year run with Science Camp, St. Andrew is making a change. We will be offering a sports camp this summer and a fine arts camp in 2024. Of course, the foundation of these camps will be the Word of God. Mark your calendar for St. Andrew Sports Camp July 10 – 13. Watch for more details this spring!
Impact
This episode covers the second half of the prayer that Jesus used to teach us how to pray. Listen to St. Andrew Pastor Clinton Kreuziger share thoughts on the meaning behind the words. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”
PowerHour
A, B, C . . . 1, 2, 3, . . . it’s all about letters and numbers this week at PowerHour! If you have a little one 3 or younger, check out this enriching ministry. Join us March 3 at 10:30 AM. FYI: there will be no PowerHour on March 17 or April 7.
Children’s ministries
Musikgarten, Plugged into Jesus, and Spark are all thriving with children, and we want your child involved! Musikgarten and Plugged into Jesus welcome children beginning at 9:20 AM, and Spark begins at 9:25 AM. This week’s Plugged into Jesus/Spark lesson is about Hezekiah, the praying king.
FUEL
This St. Andrew high school ministry includes getting together Sunday mornings at 9:25 for relevant discussion and fun conversation. We meet in room 114, and all high school students are encouraged to attend.

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
2023 summer Mission Trips
Just outside Houston is Sienna, Texas. On the outskirts of Tampa, Florida is Wesley Chapel. Along the Big Sioux River near Sioux Falls lies Brandon, South Dakota. Between and around two lakes is the capital of Wisconsin. These locations have something in common: you have an opportunity to go. Grow in faith, encourage others, and share the love of Jesus through various acts of service by participating in one of these Mission Trips. Find the details and apply at the St. Andrew website.
Monthly Mission Partner | St. Andrew Mission Trips
Wouldn’t it be great if every St. Andrew member participated in a Mission Trip this summer? Well, that’s not going to happen, but you can still support them as the March Monthly Mission Partner. Many can participate indirectly from afar, and those on-site can be relieved of some of the financial burden. The host mission congregations often lack the human resources to do the kind of work they envision, so they have always shown great appreciation for St. Andrew Mission Trip teams. The teams themselves are also encouraged by your support.
Serve hospitality
Can you smell the donuts? Rumors are circulating that they are making their return in late spring. The Hospitality team coordinated this service, among others, in the past, and the opportunity to be part of that is yours once again. Help keep our worship guests feeling like part of a family. Contact Pastor Clinton to get involved.

Westside Christian School
A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word
Call updates
On Tuesday, February 21, St. Andrew voters called Mr. Adam Bohl to be Westside Christian School’s new assistant principal and middle school teacher and Miss Jessica Neumann to teach 1st grade. Their call acknowledgement letters are below. In addition, Kim Gnewuch, 3rd grade teacher at Westside Christian School, continues to hold her call to teach grades 1 – 2 at Reformation Lutheran School in San Diego, California. Please keep all of these people in your prayers as they deliberate where to serve.
Dear Members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church,
It is with a humble heart that I acknowledge your call to serve as the assistant principal and middle school teacher at Westside Christian School. Having a chance to serve the Lord in ministry work is such an amazing experience, and now I have the opportunity to deliberate where the Lord wants me to do his work. I am excited to learn more about the ministry at St. Andrew and Westside Christian and how my family and I can use our gifts and talents to serve.
As I deliberate the two calls that I have before me, I take comfort in one of my favorite Bible passages, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Please keep my family, as well as the ministries of St. Andrew and Reformation, in your prayers as I deliberate where I can best serve the Lord’s kingdom. I also encourage you to contact me by email with any thoughts or encouragements you might have concerning this call.
Faithfully in his service,
Adam Bohl
Dear Members of St. Andrew,
Thank you for the confidence you have expressed in me by calling me to teach first grade at Westside Christian School. I am humbled to receive your call and grateful for the opportunity to consider how my gifts may best serve the Lord’s kingdom.
In the next few weeks, I will be in communication with Meredith Pucci and any other leaders of your congregation with regards to any questions I have concerning the call you have extended to me.
I pray for the Lord’s guidance as I deliberate the two calls now placed before me—the call I received from you to serve as teacher at Westside Christian and my current call to serve here at St. John’s. I respectfully ask for your prayers during this deliberation process, and I also will keep you and your congregation in my prayers.
In humble service to Christ,
Miss Jessica Neumann |
