This Week
Don’t blame me
Who hasn’t said that? Taking responsibility for a minor faux pas or a major accident is unpleasant at best and devastating at worst. For that and a host of other reasons, the Bible doctrine of Judgment Day is not a popular topic. But it is a prevalent one. When Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, he was even bold enough to say it’s to help Christians build each other up and encourage each other. Read the Spirit-filled words in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 and gather with Spirit-filled people this Thursday or Sunday to sing, pray, fellowship, greet, welcome, receive communion, and give thanks . . . for Judgment Day.

Highlights
Events and ministry news needing immediate attention
Voters’ Assembly
St. Andrew calls Voters’ Assembly meetings when it’s necessary to buy/sell property, call workers, change the constitution/by-laws, or to authorize an Annual Plan for Ministry. For that last reason, the Voters’ Assembly will convene this Sunday, June 11, at 11:45 AM. The agenda item is the Annual Plan, including the Mission/Vision, that has been presented over the past weeks. The Mission/Vision is available here and the Annual Plan is available in CCB (click on “FILES” and “2023 – 2024 Proposed Annual Plan”).

Worship
Resources and opportunities for you to worship
Summer travel plans?
Join us for worship on Thursdays at 7 PM if your summer plans take you away for the weekend. Another resource to check out is the WELS church locator tab on wels.net. Just click on “Find a Church/School” on the top toolbar, type in the city you’re going to, and find nearby churches in our fellowship. You can also continue to catch our livestream service at 10:30 AM on our St. Andrew website ( st-andrew-online.org) .
Milestones
Autumn Grim and Andrew Plumb will be married this Friday at Over the Vines in Edgerton. Autumn and Andrew chose Philippians 4:7 as a theme for the wedding, “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The Lord who unites them in marriage promises them, and you, his peace and will guard them, and you, through his word in Word and sacrament.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Breakfast will be provided. Please register here.

Moms’ Group
Moms with little ones like spending time with other moms with little ones. That is why a group of St. Andrew moms started a moms’ group. They are getting together with their children every other Tuesday this summer. To join the group, send an email to St. Andrew Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad.
St. Andrew Sports Camp
God’s Champions is the theme for this summer’s St. Andrew Sports Camp. The camp is July 10 – 13 from 8:30 – 11:30 AM for 4K – grade 6 in the 2023-2024 school year. Click here to register. The deadline to register is June 28.

Impact
Jesus’ disciples once asked him a question that Christians still wonder about: Is suffering a punishment from God for our sins? Listen to Pastor Jon Bilitz from Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel give the answer from Scripture, including what Jesus says in John 9. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Summer at St. Andrew July 23
Be sure to mark this day of food, fun, and music, featuring Koiné, a professional worship band that started as a church worship team 20 years ago. Consider the following opportunities to help make this event one for the ages:
- The activity team will see to the secondary entertainment of the day, such as yard games.
- The food team will make sure the attendees are fed and watered.
- The staging team will work on setup and placement of various event implements.
Please contact Pastor Clinton to be a part of any of these serving teams.
Mission team heading out
A team of five adults will be heading out to Brandon, South Dakota next week to assist Sure Foundation Lutheran Church with various tasks, including preparation work for an event in conjunction with a local food pantry. Keep the team in your prayers as they travel and give thanks to God for sending people to answer the call to work in his kingdom in so many different ways.
Petting zoo | June 28
Join us at Southdale Park in Fitchburg on June 28, 4 – 7 PM. Havens Petting Farm will be on-site with lots of adorable creatures for the community to enjoy. Bring your children, get outside, and admire some four-legged friends. This is also a fun and fulfilling opportunity to serve. If you can help set up for the event or be a presence to talk with parents and kids and hand out fliers for our sports camp, contact Nancy Ninman.
God’s Champions service opportunities
St. Andrew Sports Camp is July 10 – 13. You can still seize an opportunity to have a lot of fun by serving.
- Assistant coaches will help head coaches run drills and enhance campers’ skills.
- Team managers will keep their group on schedule and ensure their positive participation in each activity.
- Athletic trainers will be on call to tend to any minor injuries or illnesses that occur.
- Concessions managers will prep and distribute snacks at halftime.
- Spirit team will manage and implement God’s Champion décor for the camp.
All these roles serve the God who gives us the victory and makes us champions. Contact Pastor Clinton or Mark Kjenstad to get involved.
Monthly Mission Partner
June’s Monthly Mission Partner is Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel. This is our sister campus ministry in downtown Madison. See Pastor Bilitz’s short gratitude video below.
