This Week
Such as these
Jesus has a succinct message in Matthew 19:13-15, saying the kingdom of heaven belongs to “such as these”: children who were being brought to him. What did he mean by that? Was it just their age or something else? Let’s learn together from the Master Teacher. Worship with us Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Call extended
Last Thursday, St. Andrew called Doug Van Sice to serve as Pastor for Outreach at St. Andrew. His acknowledgment letter is below.
Greetings in the name of Jesus, our King!
What a privilege to receive a call! When I spoke with John Kamin on Thursday about the call you extended me, I was reminded of how gracious our God truly is. That he would have cracked clay jars, also called “pastors,” serve his kingdom and his people is only by his grace. Considering another call is grace upon grace.
Two weeks ago, we celebrated the Ascension of Jesus by exploring Paul’s words in Ephesians 1, “God has placed all things under Jesus’ feet and appointed him head over everything for the church, his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” I stand in awe of this truth. Jesus, the King of kings, wields all power imaginable for his church, for me, for you! He rules over all things so that, whether in Huntersville, North Carolina or Middleton, Wisconsin, people from all walks of life receive him, know the grace he has for them, and are ushered into his Kingdom that never ends. The privilege we have as God’s people is to work under that power, with that power as the King uses us to build his Kingdom. What a glorious blessing this is.
I am grateful for the information that I have already received, and I look forward to learning more about the ministry of St. Andrew and the mission field of Middleton as I consider where my family and I can best serve the Lord in his Kingdom. Throughout this deliberation process, I welcome your perspectives, conversations, input, and prayers. I humbly ask you to pray for me, my family, and your brothers and sisters at Huntersville Lutheran Church.
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be
with you all” (2 Corinthians 13:14).

Sanctuary floor signing June 7 & 14
The time has finally come! Twenty-five years ago when the sanctuary was built, members wrote their favorite Bible passages on the floor so that as we worshiped each week, we were literally standing on the Word of God. Five years ago, those verses were uncovered and we added many more during renovations. Over the next two weekends, June 7 & 14, we will open the new sanctuary for about 15-20 minutes after each service so that those who wish to add their favorite Bible passage to the new floor can do so. We won’t be able to see the entire new building but you will get a sneak peek of our new sanctuary! We will have Bibles and markers available.

Naming contest for the new building
Put on your creative thinking caps and help us name a few of the rooms in our new building. Many of us know the Soul Cafe in our current building and we are looking for your creative names first for what is currently called the Volunteer Lounge. This room will house the coffee machines, serve as the hospitality area, and offer a place for anyone to sit, work, or hang out. Submit your names here and then we will vote for your favorite.

A Place of Peace giving
What a blessing to be just a few months away from occupying and utilizing the new spaces, thanks to God’s work through so many contributors who allowed us to exceed our campaign goal of $7,500,000. If you’re new to this and would like to contribute, giving can be set up like other offerings using “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund” or memo line, or check “Ministry Expansion” on your St. Andrew offering envelope. Contact Financial Administrator Ron Kerr with further questions.

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Stuff Swap
We all have a lot of stuff that we don’t need anymore. Here’s a chance to take that stuff and swap it for stuff you do need. Our Moms’ Growth Group is having a Kids and Family Stuff Swap on Saturday, June 27, from 9 AM – 12 PM at St. Andrew. Signs in the atrium provide more details. The best part? There will be a free will donation benefiting Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County. The second best part? Coffee and bagels will be available while you swap.
Follow Me
There will be no science camp this summer due to construction, but we are inviting children to Follow Me—A Summer Day with Jesus. Children in kindergarten – grade 6 are invited to Garner Park (333 S. Rosa Rd., Madison) on Wednesday, July 8, to follow Jesus. Children can be dropped off after 3:15 PM for a 3:30 PM start. At 5:30 PM, parents are invited to return for a hot dog cookout and celebration service. Register HERE. If your 7th or 8th grade student would like to help at the event, contact Children’s Ministry Director Emma Nolte at [email protected].org.
Women’s Event
St. Andrew women are invited to Get Moving, a women’s ministry event on August 14 – 15 at Grace Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. For the full schedule and to register visit amberalbeeswenson.com.
Impact podcast
Here is a follow-up to last week’s episode. It is all about the eternal home of those who trust Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins, and what a home it is. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.
