This Week
Better worshipers of the living God
What do you think about when you’re not doing anything else? Where does your mind go? God has given us so much in this world; there’s no shortage of options. We don’t have to go so far as to say that where our minds go is what we worship, but we can safely say when we come into the presence of God in his Word and sacrament, he pulls us away from our love and affection for those things and puts them on the living God. That’s worship. We experience what we are meant to be. Paul goes there in the last section of his first letter to the Thessalonians. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-28 and gather with the saints this Thursday or Sunday for that kind of worship.

Worship
Resources and opportunities for you to worship
Summer at St. Andrew
Summer at Andrew is a day of music, food, and fun all to the glory of God. Food and soft drinks will be served, games will be played, and great music will be enjoyed. Join us on Sunday, July 23, at 3 PM, and hear talented St. Andrew musicians do their thing followed by a 5 PM concert by the worship band Koiné. Bring a chair and a friend. You can even bring a tent to escape the sun. Join God’s people for Summer at St. Andrew.
Koiné will also play for both worship services on Sunday morning.
Sports Camp celebration service | Thursday, July 13
Join us Thursday, July 13, for a special Sports Camp celebration. At 7 PM, we will celebrate the great things God is doing at our Sports Camp during the week. Campers will bring their families for singing, a devotion, and a video/slideshow. The celebration will be capped off with special yummy treats for all. Celebrate with us and make our guests feel welcome.
Concert link
Last week Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs was in the Milwaukee area singing with Canticum Novum: A WELS Chamber Choir. This group consists of 40 of the top choral singers from around the Midwest. You can view the livestream of their concert here.
Milestones
Adia Kolell and Michael Charlesworth will be married this Saturday in Milwaukee. Although they are both part of our St. Andrew family, Adia grew up attending St. Marcus Lutheran Church, so the wedding will be there. May the Lord bless them and others through a wedding service that glorifies Jesus and then bless them with a lifetime of glorifying Jesus together.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.
Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship this weekend. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Moms’ Group
Moms with little ones like spending time with other moms with little ones. That is why a group of St. Andrew moms started a moms’ group. They are getting together with their children every other Tuesday this summer. To join the group, send an email to St. Andrew Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad.
Impact
In this final episode (for now) on “Heavy Questions,” we tackle a heavy question posed by James about faith and good works. Listen to Pastor Clinton from St. Andrew explain how good works come into play for the Christian. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Mission Trip | Wesley Chapel, Florida
Our team of teens and their leaders has returned from serving Citrus Grove Lutheran Church near Tampa. Between lots of fun sightseeing, they helped the church put on several events and assisted with Sunday’s worship. Find many pictures and descriptions of their work on Facebook.
Flags for July 4
St. Andrew is putting together a team to help Middleton VFW set up and take down American flags around our community on July 4 to celebrate our independence. This is a great project for individuals, groups, or families. Flag setup begins around 6 AM, and the flags are returned by 5:30 PM. Contact Pastor Clinton to join this effort or sign up here.
Serve at Sports Camp July 10 – 13
Camp is fast approaching. St. Andrew has responded to the opportunities to serve so that only a few remain.
- If you are interested in being a team manager (leading the children to and from their activities and maintaining general order) for the kindergarten or 2nd grade group, please contact Pastor Clinton or Mark Kjenstad. Note that each age group will have multiple team managers, not just you.
- In the interest of expediency and economic efficiency, all the snacks are being bought in advance in bulk. A way to serve without being present is donating to offset the snack cost, which is roughly $5 per child. Donate here (set the “designation” to “God’s Champions Sports Camp”).
July Monthly Mission Partner

To carry out this mission, Friends Network recruits, trains, sends, and supports lay missionaries around the world. The organization started in 2000, primarily focusing on China. It later merged with a similar ministry reaching Vietnam. Today, Friends Network has sent well over 300 evangelists to 15 different locations.
