This Week
Untouchable
What do you think of when you hear “untouchable”? John Stockton’s record number of career assists in the NBA? The Bill of Rights? The skill level of a favorite musician? As we leave the Sermon on the Mount behind, Matthew 8 introduces us to an untouchable leper, but with God, all things are possible. Join us to marvel at how Jesus has touched our world and believe in his salvation. Worship Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Highlights
Events and ministry news needing immediate attention
Annual voters’ meeting Sunday, June 29
Last Sunday at our annual plan celebration, key elements of the upcoming ministry plan were reviewed and discussed. A document detailing our 7-year and 3-year vision, as well as our annual plan and comprehensive details on how to achieve it, is available here. Join us this Sunday as we ask our Lord to bless this plan and vote to adopt it. We will meet in the sanctuary at 11:45 AM.
Parmenter Street road construction
The City of Middleton began construction on Parmenter Street this week, and the south portion of Parmenter Street is now closed.
For weekly traffic to get to St. Andrew it is recommended to take one of these alternate routes:
- From the north, County Road K to Church Road to Schneider Road.
- From the south, Airport Road to Capitol View Road to Schneider Road.
On evenings after 6:30 and weekends you can use one of the routes above or:
- Take Highway 12, to the Parmenter Street Exit #249 and drive around the barriers (it is not recommended to drive on Parmenter Street from the south).
This construction project is between Century Avenue and Greenbriar Road and will last until October. We will keep you updated as we learn more and appreciate your patience.

A Place of Peace
Updates related to the ministry expansion and building project
A Place of Peace giving
Giving can be set up like other offerings. Go to “Give” at the website, and you can set up a one-time or recurring gift. Choose “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund.” If using a check, please put “A Place of Peace” in the memo line. If using St. Andrew offering envelopes, use the designation “Ministry Expansion.”
Even if you didn’t make a formal pledge, you can still give. Every bit helps, as St. Andrew will still carry some debt, and the less debt, the more ministry.
Parking lot construction update
Phase 3 of the parking lot construction will begin after June 29. Here are some important details to keep in mind. With the rain this week and a lot of moving parts in the parking lot construction, dates are flexible:
- At some point after June 29, the front doors will officially close, and the main entrance will move to the north side gym doors. Watch for signage to point you to the correct entrance. The doorbell, keypad, and intercom services will be relocated temporarily to these north gym doors as well so you can enter the building as you normally would.
- The new north parking lot is almost ready for pavement. When we transition to the new main entrance, there will be pavement in the new lot to walk on.
There will be a change in available parking when the interior fences go up. Most of the north side of the parking lot will be usable for worship on Thursdays and Sundays.

Worship
Resources and opportunities for you to worship
Concert link
Last week Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs and our new Westside Christian School Music Director Emma Nolte were in the Milwaukee area singing with Canticum Novum: A WELS Chamber Choir. This group consists of 40 of the top choral singers from around the Midwest. You can view the livestream of their concert here.
Summer travel plans?
With school now officially being out, it’s a good time to review all our worship options. Join us for worship on Thursdays at 7 PM if your summer plans take you away for the weekend. Catch our livestream service at 8 AM on our St. Andrew website (st-andrew-online.org) to worship with us remotely while traveling. Or join us in person at 8:00 or 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings.
Milestones
Theodore Mark Edward Luppen, son of Brandon and Michelle Luppen, was born earlier this month and baptized into Christ last Sunday. Rejoice with the Luppens in these great blessings from our merciful Father in heaven. Then continue to pray for this and all young families as they raise the children of God.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.
Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship this weekend. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.
“Lord, I Need You” by Matt Maher
“Praise” by Elevation Worship
“Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness” arr. by Branches Band

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
St. Andrew library
There is a great collection of books in the St. Andrew Library, which is located in the Soul Café. You are welcome to check out books anytime. Locate the green binder used for self-checkout.
New books include:
Your Word for Mine | This book features true stories written by 12 Christian women, including Jane Schlenvogt-Dew from St. Andrew. They share deep struggles and how God’s Word pulled them through. You will discover how God speaks words of rescue to you too.
Deep as the Sea | This book is a collection of letters inviting all trauma survivors to find refuge in God’s Word. It serves as a gospel-centered, comprehensive model of healing.

Children’s Ministry Day
Children in kindergarten – grade 6 are invited to Garner Park on Wednesday, July 23. Our focus is Jesus: The Light of the World. Children will make a candle and learn about lesser lights like fire and the sun. They will learn new songs and play fun games. Drop off your children for a 3:30 PM start. At 5:30, parents and guests are invited to return for a hot dog cookout and celebration service. Find more details and register here.

Impact
This episode brings us to the end of the Joseph story where we are reminded that the whole story was part of God’s perfect plan. The same can be said of your life. It is perfectly planned by your heavenly Father. Listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.
LifeBoat
Lifeboat, our middle school ministry, recently held a bake sale to raise money for A Place of Peace. Thank you to those who worked the tables, the bakers, and the buyers. $265 was raised. To God be the glory!

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Brat Fest volunteers
Brat Fest is a great opportunity to serve the community and earn donations. This year’s group had a lot of fun and raised $615 for St. Andrew mission trips. Thanks for serving! Brat Fest is held in Madison every year on Memorial Day weekend.
Service opportunity | Independence Day
St. Andrew is putting together a team to help Middleton VFW set out American flags around our community on July 4 to celebrate our independence. This is a great project for individuals, groups, or families, and the VFW makes a donation to St. Andrew. Flags are picked up around 6 AM at the Middleton VFW (just east of Metro Market and Prairie Café) and then set out at various locations. The flags are returned to the VFW between 5 and 5:30 PM. Help with either or both. Contact Pastor Clinton to join this effort or sign up here.
Serving opportunity | Children’s Ministry Day
Children’s Ministry Day is July 23 from 3:30 – 7:00 PM at Garner Park in Madison. Would you like to help bring this ministry to children of St. Andrew and the community? You can serve with food prep, as a group leader or game organizer, or in other ways. Contact Yvonne Onsager for details.
Service opportunity | outdoor greeters
With construction happening and intensifying soon, we want to make sure our guests (and members) know where to go. We are looking to assemble a team to help direct worshipers to parking and to the entrance before worship services. It’s a role you can do whichever service you attend. Contact Pastor Clinton if interested.
Monthly Mission Partner
Our partner for June is our mission trips. This ministry helps people go to different locations to spread the gospel of Jesus. Typically, we choose mission churches that don’t have a lot of manpower, including the group of eight heading to Rock Hill, South Carolina, in about two weeks. Not everyone goes on mission trips, but you can support them and the churches they travel to with prayers, encouragement, and offerings.
