This Week

What do you want?
Jesus asked this question in a specific context in Matthew 20, but it’s one that we can all reflect on. Join us for worship this weekend as we examine some interesting conversations Jesus had. We’ll ask some questions of our own and let Scripture reveal the answers. Weekend worship is Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Highlights

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Annual voters’ meeting June 28
Join us at 11:45 AM on Sunday for our annual voters’ meeting. The agenda items include approving the 2026 – 2027 Comprehensive Ministry Plan and Budget, renewing several calls to those who have completed synod certification, formally calling Westside Christian School’s new preschool director, and electing new Board of Directors members for the positions of president and properties director. Please come with your questions prepared, or you can contact a member of the Board of Directors or an Area of Ministry Leader this week.

St. Andrew Culture Survey
Earlier this week, St. Andrew members received an invitation to participate in a survey to help us identify our culture. This process is intended to guide and align leadership, welcome and orient newcomers, and encourage members to live out the congregation’s mission. We are asking members to complete the survey by June 30.

A Place of Peace

Updates related to the ministry expansion and building project

Construction update
Flooring installation has begun in the new building. The chancel area where the pastors stand will have maple floors. Drywalling is underway for the new classrooms. The rooms are coming together very quickly!

Naming contest | Vote for your favorite
Thank you to everyone who submitted names for our new rooms. We had some very creative ideas! We have narrowed the options down to five for each room.

Now is the time to vote for your favorites! Click here to cast your votes.

A Place of Peace giving
What a blessing to be just a few months away from occupying and utilizing the new spaces, thanks to God’s work through so many contributors who allowed us to exceed our campaign goal of $7,500,000. If you’re new to this and would like to contribute, go to st-andrew-online.org, click “Give” at the top of the page, and use “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund” or memo line. You can also place your contribution in a St. Andrew offering envelope and check “Ministry Expansion.” Contact Financial Administrator Ron Kerr with further questions.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Save the date | Church dedication
Mark your calendars for September 27. We will be dedicating our new building in all three worship services that weekend and will have a special celebration following the 10:30 AM service. You won’t want to miss it!

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship on Sunday. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Books to browse
The St. Andrew library serves us very well and will continue to in our new building. To prepare for the move, we are downsizing our collection of books which gives you books to browse. You can help yourself to any books on the table in the atrium. Thank you to all who continue to generously donate books to St. Andrew. Your gifts are appreciated.

Stuff Swap
The St. Andrew Moms’ Growth Group is having a Kids and Family Stuff Swap on Saturday, June 27, from 9 AM – 12 PM at St. Andrew. You don’t have to bring something to swap to attend. You can come and take what you want and, if so moved, leave behind a donation for Care Net.

Impact podcast
We generally don’t think of feet as beautiful. However, when they carry good news, they sure are. When they carry a cross, they are beyond beautiful. Romans 10 is before us this week and our guest is Pastor Don Schultz, principal and Bible teacher at Lakeside Lutheran High School. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Service opportunity | Outdoor grounds project
We need to move some dirt! If you’d like to get outside on a Saturday or Sunday (TBD) to work with your hands, a shovel, and maybe a wheelbarrow, please contact Pastor Clinton with your available dates and times. A small crew should be able to knock it out pretty quickly.

Independence Day service opportunity
A St. Andrew tradition is to help Middleton VFW set out American flags around our community on July 4 to celebrate our nation’s independence. This is a great project for individuals, groups, or families, and the VFW makes a donation to St. Andrew. Flags are picked up by 6:30 AM at the Middleton VFW (just east of Metro Market, etc.) and then set out at various locations. The flags are returned to the VFW at 5 PM. Help with either or both. Contact Pastor Clinton to join this effort or sign up here.

LWMS Convention opening and closing worship
The 63rd Annual Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society Convention will be at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison June 25 – 28. All are welcome to attend the opening worship service at 7 PM on June 25, and the closing worship service at 8:30 AM on June 28. Visit 63.lwms.org for more information.

Monthly Mission Partner
Our June partner is Time of Grace Ministry. Time of Grace uses a variety of media to tackle topics Christians need to talk about but often don’t and to encourage people to love everyone God made and everything God wrote in the Bible. View more information at timeofgrace.org.
