This Week
Kindness to everyone
A long time ago, the Holy Spirit inspired the apostle Paul to write a letter to a church in a Greek city called Thessaloniki. Even though it was specific to their situation, much of it applies to us, including Paul’s closing exhortations. A good summary of these is kindness to everyone. The visible marks of Christianity are not complicated. Join us to review God’s words from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15 and see how they still apply 2,000 years later, over 5,000 miles away. Worship with us Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

This week Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs is in the Milwaukee area singing with Canticum Novum: A WELS Chamber Choir. This group consists of 40 of the top choral singers from around the Midwest. They will present three concerts this weekend:
- Friday, June 23, 7:30 PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha
- Saturday, June 24, 7:30 PM, at Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Milwaukee
- Sunday, June 25, 10:30 AM, at Morning Star Lutheran Church in Jackson (as part of the worship service)
The Friday evening concert will also be livestreamed. Visit their website for the livestream link and more information.
Milestones
Seth Cracker and Kayla Averbeck will be married this Saturday afternoon. They have chosen as a theme for their marriage service and their marriage, Isaiah 54:10, “‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” May God grant them a lifetime of living in his peace.
The people of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Berlin (Merrill, Wisconsin), have a custom that goes back generations. On the birthdays of loved ones who have departed this life, the family places flowers in the chancel in memory of them. Gene Woller, who was called to eternal glory last December 28, was brought into the kingdom of God through holy baptism at Trinity Lutheran Church after his birth on June 24. In keeping with their custom, Donna Woller has placed flowers in the chancel this weekend in memory of Gene.

Moms with little ones like spending time with other moms with little ones. That is why a group of St. Andrew moms started a moms’ group. They are getting together with their children every other Tuesday this summer. To join the group, send an email to St. Andrew Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad.

Impact
Why are you so afraid? Jesus asked his disciples this penetrating question. It’s a good question for us to ponder also. Pastor Clinton from St. Andrew is back to give us reasons to choose faith over fear. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Mission Trips
Our adult team has returned from their mission trip in Brandon, South Dakota, where they worked with Sure Foundation Lutheran Church. Find St. Andrew on Facebook to see many pictures and descriptions of their work.
This week, a team of three leaders plus six teens will be heading to Wesley Chapel, Florida, to serve Citrus Grove Lutheran Church and assist their various efforts to share the gospel of Jesus. Pray for all involved, that they might grow in faith and be safe throughout their trip.
Petting zoo | June 28
Join us next Wednesday, 4 – 7 PM, at Southdale Park in Fitchburg. Havens Petting Farm will be on-site with lots of adorable creatures for the community to enjoy. Bring your children, get outside, and admire some four-legged friends. This is also a fun and fulfilling opportunity to serve. If you can help set up for the event or be a presence to talk with parents and kids and hand out fliers for our sports camp, contact Nancy Ninman.
Flags for July 4
St. Andrew is putting together teams to help Middleton VFW set up and take down American flags around our community on July 4 to celebrate our independence. This is a great project for individuals, groups, or families. Flag setup begins around 6 AM, and the flags are returned by 5:30 PM. Contact Pastor Clinton to join this effort.
Serve at Sports Camp | July 10 – 13
God’s Champions Sports Camp is coming soon. Lots of kids will be on-site to learn about some of their favorite sports and their Savior. Thank you for volunteering to make this possible. If you are still looking for an opportunity to serve, some slots are still available for concessions workers and team managers. We’re also looking for individuals to utilize their decorating abilities to form our spirit team. Contact Pastor Clinton or Mark Kjenstad to get involved.
Summer at St. Andrew | July 23
Be sure to mark this day of food, fun, and music, featuring Koiné, a professional worship band that started as a church worship team 20 years ago. Consider the following opportunities to help make this event one for the ages:
- The activity team will see to the secondary entertainment of the day, such as yard games.
- The food team will make sure the attendees are fed and watered.
- The staging team will work on setup and placement of various event implements.
Please contact Pastor Clinton to be a part of any of these serving teams.
