This Week

That explains everything
Life has a way of coming at us fast and furious. This crazy life also creates more questions than it does provide answers. Thankfully, we have God’s Word to retreat to as not only our “answer guide,” but also to provide encouragement and comfort about why things are the way they are and how our gracious God works everything out for our good and his glory. This week in worship, we travel back to the Garden of Eden and watch sin rear its ugly head. Sin forcefully enters the world . . . but so does God’s mercy and love. We’ll worship together this weekend proclaiming, “That explains everything,” marveling as a Savior is promised for the very first time.

Highlights

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Christian funeral
Our sister in Christ, Deanna Nolden, departed this temporary home and entered her eternal one on Friday, June 9. Join the saints at 11 AM on Monday, June 19, at St. Andrew, to rehearse and remember God’s promises to her in Christ. A time for visiting will take place beginning two hours before, and a luncheon will be served after. Sometime later that day, her remains will be committed to the ground, next to those of her husband, Dave, to await the return of our Lord and the resurrection of her body made glorious. If you’d like to help set up, take down, clean up, or serve food, please let us know by emailing info@st-andrew-online.org.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Summer travel plans?
Join us for worship on Thursdays at 7 PM if your summer plans take you away for the weekend. Another resource to check out is the WELS church locator tab on wels.net. Just click on “Find a Church/School” on the top toolbar, type in the city you’re going to, and find nearby churches in our fellowship. You can also continue to catch our livestream service at 10:30 AM on our St. Andrew website (st-andrew-online.org).

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

A Morning for Your Marriage
This enrichment for married couples led by Pastor Hunter will help you find more joy in each other and give more glory to God through your marriage. It doesn’t matter if you have been married one year or fifty years, this is for all couples including those who attended in February. Join us at St. Andrew on Saturday, July 8, from 9:30 – 11:45 AM. Continental breakfast begins at 9:00 AM. Please register here.

Mom’s Group
Moms with little ones like spending time with other moms with little ones. That is why a group of St. Andrew moms started a moms’ group. They are getting together with their children every other Tuesday this summer. To join the group, send an email to St. Andrew Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad.

St. Andrew Sports Camp
God’s Champions is the theme for this summer’s St. Andrew Sports Camp. The camp is July 10 – 13 from 8:30 – 11:30 AM for 4K – grade 6 in the 2023-2024 school year. Click here to register. The deadline to register is June 28.

Impact
Am I my brother’s keeper? Cain asked that question to God. We all know the answer. Listen to Pastor Clinton use Scripture to help us see how we are keepers of our brothers and sisters.  You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Flags for July 4
St. Andrew is putting together a team to help Middleton VFW set out American flags around our community on July 4 to celebrate our independence. This is a great project for individuals, groups, or families. Flag setup begins around 6 AM, and the flags are returned by 5:30 PM.  Contact Pastor Clinton to join this effort.

Summer at St. Andrew July 23
Be sure to mark this day of food, fun, and music, featuring Koiné, a professional worship band that started as a church worship team 20 years ago. Consider the following opportunities to help make this event one for the ages:

  • The activity team will see to the secondary entertainment of the day, such as yard games.
  • The food team will make sure the attendees are fed and watered.
  • The staging team will work on setup and placement of various event implements.

Please contact Pastor Clinton to be a part of any of these serving teams.

Mission Trips
A team of five adults has headed west to assist Sure Foundation Lutheran Church with various tasks, including preparation work for an event in conjunction with a local food pantry. Keep the team in your prayers as they serve out in Brandon, South Dakota.

Next week, a team of three leaders plus six teens will be heading to Wesley Chapel, Florida, to serve Citrus Grove Lutheran Church and assist their various efforts to share the gospel of Jesus. Pray for all involved, that they might grow in faith and be safe throughout their trip.

God’s Champions service opportunities
St. Andrew Sports Camp is July 10 – 13. Lots of service opportunities have been filled, but some are still available, especially those involving serving snacks, tending to minor injuries/illnesses, and utilizing artistic ability. Contact Pastor Clinton or Mark Kjenstad to get involved.

Petting zoo | June 28
Join us at Southdale Park in Fitchburg on June 28, 4 – 7 PM. Havens Petting Farm will be on-site with lots of adorable creatures for the community to enjoy. Bring your children, get outside, and admire some four-legged friends. This is also a fun and fulfilling opportunity to serve. If you can help set up for the event or be a presence to talk with parents and kids and hand out fliers for our sports camp, contact Nancy Ninman.

Monthly Mission Partner
June’s Monthly Mission Partner is Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel. This is our sister campus ministry in downtown Madison. See Pastor Bilitz’s short gratitude video below.

Paint giveaway
Summertime is a great time to clean out things that have been stored on our church shelves . . . sometimes for longer than we think. We have gallons of paint that are no longer being used on the walls in the church or school that need to be painted on a new home! Feel free to take any or all for your home or charity painting project. You can find them on the benches outside room 102 (Pre-K3).
