This Week

Testimony
In the church, the word testimony makes some uncomfortable. It conjures up images of a tearful speech, filled with regret and sadness but then ending with happy outcomes and more ups than downs. Fear not, this Sunday is not “Testimony Day.” You won’t be asked to “give your testimony.” Yet, according to Romans 10, every day is testimony day. Plan your testimony. One day someone will ask you about your hope, and you want to be ready. Just make sure it’s more about what Jesus has done than what you have done. When your testimony includes the Good News of Jesus, God uses it in beautiful ways to work faith in others and fill heaven. Your story may be dramatic (or not) but nothing beats a man rising from the dead. Read Romans 10 and join with others to consider your testimony this Thursday at 7:00 PM or on Sunday at either 8:00 AM or 10:30 AM.

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Annual Plan Celebration | June 16
You have an opportunity to review, ask questions of the Board and Areas of Ministry leaders, and celebrate our plans for ministry on Sunday, June 16, 9:25 – 10:15 AM. Preview the 2024 – 2025 Comprehensive Ministry Plan & Budget here and view the Mission and Vision of St. Andrew here.

Voters’ Meeting | June 23
The voters of St. Andrew are invited to act on three important items during the voters’ meeting on Sunday, June 23, at 11:45 AM, in the sanctuary:

  1. Authorize the 2024 – 2025 Comprehensive Ministry Plan & Budget
  2. Issue a one-year half-time call to Jess Bohl to teach at Westside Christian School
  3. Elect new Board nominees John Kamin, Jamie Lundgren, and Tyler Simmons to serve on the St. Andrew Board. Mitch Hutter and Orv Jordahl have agreed to continue their service on the Board, and the Board whole-heartedly recommends them for reelection. The financial administrator and the lead pastor will also continue as non-voting ex officio members of the Board.

Morning For Your Marriage
Whether you have been married for one year or fifty-one years, this enrichment for married couples led by Pastor Hunter will help you find more joy in each other and give more glory to God through your marriage. Join us at St. Andrew on Saturday, July 13, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. Come hungry—breakfast will be served. Childcare is provided. Register here.

Pre-Marriage Workshop
You put time into planning for the dress, the band, the menu, the seating, the invitations, etc. And as good as it all is, it will all be gone a couple hours after you say your vows. Your marriage, though, remains. Plenty of wedding planning experts and websites offer to help you plan your wedding. Let us help you plan for a marriage that honors God and a lifetime of bringing joy to your spouse. St. Andrew offers two Pre-Marriage Workshops each year to our community. The next one is on Saturday, July 20, beginning with continental breakfast at 8:30 AM and concluding by 4:00 PM. If you’re engaged, you can register now. Registration closes on Sunday, July 14. This isn’t just for people of St. Andrew. Forward this invitation and the link to engaged couples you know who want to gain valuable skills for a Christian marriage.

St. Andrew Summer Camp | Jesus in Everything
Children entering kindergarten – grade 6 are encouraged to attend St. Andrew Summer Camp! This year’s camp offers a fun variety of activities, and Jesus will be in everything. The dates are July 8 – 11. Go here for more information and to register. Please register by June 23.

Impact
All of God’s people have spiritual gifts from God. The diversity of those gifts is a thing of beauty. Pastor Colin Wenzel, a Bible teacher from Luther Prep in Watertown, Wisconsin, is here this week to share some thoughts on what Paul says about your spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12. Find Impact by searching “Kjenstad Impact” or click here.

LifeBoat
LifeBoat is having a pool party! This grades 7  – 10 ministry is ready to celebrate summer. Join the fun on June 23, 4 – 7 PM, at the Savannah Pool in Waunakee. Food will be provided, and you may bring a friend. Contact Jess Bohl or Hilary Griswold to RSVP.

Monthly Mission Partner
June’s Monthly Mission Partner is WELS UK. Over the summer months, many volunteers will be in London spreading the word to help establish this mission. St. Andrew is participating in this synod-wide effort by sending three individuals in July.

WELS Connection
Every month, our church body releases a video to highlight a specific project or ministry of some of our brothers and sisters in faith. Last month’s video shows one family’s story that is part of an encouraging trend in our area Lutheran high schools.
