This Week
Your favorite Bible doctrine
Ask the people around church to tell you their favorite Bible doctrine and what do you think you’ll hear? Heaven? Forgiveness? Prayer? Baptism? Here’s one I don’t think you’d hear: Judgment Day and fire from heaven. Nope, that’s not going to make it into anyone’s top ten list of favorite Bible doctrines. But still, Judgement Day isn’t just a doctrine to be tolerated. It’s a Bible doctrine full of good news and grace. Read 2 Thessalonians 1 this week and then gather with brothers and sisters to receive from it the Spirit’s Good News. Who knows? Judgment Day might become your new favorite Bible doctrine. Or not.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Sports Camp
It’s almost here! St. Andrew Sports Camp is next week. Please say a prayer for God’s blessings on all who attend and all who serve. Oh, and say a prayer for good weather.
Orientation meetings
There is a team of 50+ volunteers ready to serve God’s children at Sports Camp. If you are on that team, take note of the upcoming orientation meetings, and choose which one you will attend.
Thursday, July 6 | 6:15 PM | gym
Thursday, July 6 | 7:15 PM | virtual | Zoom link
Sunday, July 9 | 11:45 AM | gym (pizza will be provided)
Orientation will last 45 minutes.
Moms’ Group
Moms with little ones like spending time with other moms with little ones. That is why a group of St. Andrew moms started a moms’ group. They are getting together with their children every other Tuesday this summer. To join the group, send an email to St. Andrew Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad.
Impact
Forgiving others can be hard—very hard sometimes. Jesus knows that. He told a parable to help you forgive. The guest on Impact this week is Professor Stephen Geiger from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, and the topic is the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Happy Independence Day
We pray that your celebrations of our nation’s independence were safe and fulfilling. Scripture has much to say about freedom, including this command: “Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves” (1 Peter 2:16). May the Holy Spirit be in us as we use our Christian freedom not for our own purposes, but for God’s mission.
July Monthly Mission Partner
Friends Network is a missionary-sending organization that exists to build eternal friendships. To carry out this mission, Friends Network recruits, trains, sends, and supports lay missionaries around the world. The organization started in 2000, primarily focusing on China. It later merged with a similar ministry reaching Vietnam. Today, Friends Network has sent well over 300 evangelists to 15 different locations. View the video for more information on this globally-minded ministry.

Sports Camp service opportunity
Camp is next week, but you can still serve without even being present. In the interest of expediency and economic efficiency, all the snacks have been bought in bulk in advance. The cost for snacks per student is about $5. Consider donating here (set the “designation” to “God’s Champions Sports Camp”).
WELS Connection
Every month, our church body releases a video to highlight a specific project or ministry of some of our brothers and sisters in faith. The June WELS Connection highlights a mission in Durham, North Carolina, part of an effort to launch 100 new missions in 10 years. Click here to view the June WELS Connection video.
