This Week
Why are you so gifted?
That question might make you sit up a little taller. I suppose that’s because we focus on the last two words and congratulate ourselves. There might be something to that. After all, the Bible does say each of us is uniquely gifted by God. But let your eyes go back to the first word of that question. Rather than sitting taller, we might be looking inward. Or toward God’s Word. Why? After an exhaustive explanation of God and his working among and for us, the apostle Paul now turns his attention to us and the gifts God has given us. And he answers the question, “Why?” Read Romans 12 and gather with fellow gifted saints to serve one another and find God’s answers for why he has given you the gifts you enjoy. The saints called St. Andrew gather to receive ministry and to give ministry to each other on Thursday at 7:00 PM or on Sunday at 8:00 or 10:30 AM.

Resources and opportunities for you to worship
Summer Camp Celebration Service
Summer Camp is quickly approaching, and we are excitedly getting ready to welcome the children for a week of fun learning about Jesus. On Thursday, July 11, we will culminate our week with a special service celebrating the great things the Lord did throughout the week. Please note this Thursday service will be at 6:30 PM, not 7 PM, as we normally do on Thursday evenings. St. Andrew members are welcome to come and celebrate with us at this special service and help us make our guests feel welcome.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.
Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship this weekend. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Morning for Your Marriage
9 AM – 11 AM, Saturday, July 13
A study of 50,000 couples showed that one of the most significant distinctions between happy and unhappy couples is how they handle conflict. Join other married couples to learn and practice two important things to help manage conflict in ways that build intimacy, honor Jesus, and bring joy to each other.
Guests are welcome, and so are children. Registration is required both for the event and for childcare. Registration will close Sunday, July 7. Arrival time begins at 8:30 AM. Enjoy a beverage, fruit, and pastries, and get the kiddos settled in with their caregivers so we can begin at 9 AM. If you’d like to help provide care for the children while their parents are building their marriages, please message [email protected] or write it on your Connection Card in church.
Pre-Marriage Workshop
You put time into planning for the dress, the band, the menu, the seating, the invitations, etc. And as good as it all is, it will all be gone a couple hours after you say your vows. Your marriage, though, remains. Plenty of wedding planning experts and websites offer to help you plan your wedding. Let us help you plan for a marriage that honors God and a lifetime of bringing joy to your spouse. St. Andrew offers two Pre-Marriage Workshops each year to our community. The next one is on Saturday, July 20, beginning with continental breakfast at 8:30 AM and concluding by 4:00 PM. If you’re engaged, you can register now. Registration closes on Sunday, July 14. This isn’t just for people of St. Andrew. Forward this invitation and the link to engaged couples you know who want to gain valuable skills for a Christian marriage.
Mom’s Group
A group of St. Andrew moms with young children is meeting twice a month for encouragement and community. The next time is July 9. If you would like to attend, reach out to Paige Fricke for details.
Impact
Any message from John the Baptist is going to include Jesus, and any message about Jesus includes you. Learn more from Luke 4 in this week’s episode with guests from Wisconsin Lutheran College. Tune in to Impact by searching “Kjenstad Impact” or click here.

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Tragedy involving members of sister churches
You may have heard some of the details involving a house fire in Necedah, Wisconsin. Many of the details are included in a statement released by WELS President Mark Schroeder. Even with fists clenched and tears in our eyes, we pray, “Your will be done.”
One body, many members
1 Corinthians 12 says the church is like a body. It is one, but it is made of many unique parts with specific roles. St. Andrew has been blessed with many personalities, spiritual gifts, and skillsets. We want you to be blessed and be a blessing to others by serving in accordance with yours. St. Andrew’s ministry plan for the next twelve months has now gone into effect, so now is a great time to submit your One Body, Many Members survey to help determine how you can serve.
New called workers join Westside staff
Dan and Beth Plath and Krista Simmons have officially begun their new roles at Westside Christian School. As part of our effort to welcome them to the ministry, card boxes will be in the atrium until Sunday, July 7. Feel free to drop a gift and/or card of encouragement. We are also planning an afternoon event and picnic on August 18. More details on that to come.
Mission London
Jaime Brunet, Brittany Engel, and Amy Kohlstedt are heading to England to spend some time helping establish a new sister church in London. This is part of a mission orchestrated by our entire church body, so lots of people from many churches are taking part in this effort. May God bless his work through them, so that the gospel of Jesus might reach many.
Money raised from Brat Fest 2024
Just over a month ago, a group of St. Andrew members volunteered at Brat Fest. They were able to raise $673 for mission trips, which are heading out this month and next month. Thank you, Brat Fest volunteers!
Monthly Mission Partner
July’s partner is Christian Aid & Relief, an organization of our church body whose mission is to reflect Christ’s love and compassion to souls suffering from disasters and hardships. Because of what Christ has freely done for us, we eagerly show we care by offering our time, talents, and treasures to those in need. For a better idea of what CAR does, go to wels.net/relief.
