This Week

What do you marvel at?
To marvel at something is so much more than just to admire it. It’s more than just being impressed. You marvel at things that radically exceed your expectations—whether it’s the way someone treats you or a view you never expected. Or Judgment Day? This weekend, let the apostle Paul tell you things that can move you to marvel at Judgment Day. Gather for the unexpected on Sunday at 8 or 10:30 AM. This Thursday, the theme of our worship will be the closing devotion for our summer sports camp.

Highlights

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Summer at St. Andrew
Join us on Sunday, July 23, at 3 PM in our St. Andrew backyard for an afternoon of great music, food, and fun all to the glory of God. What can you expect at Summer at St. Andrew?

  • At 3 PM, hear seven different groups of talented St. Andrew musicians perform 90 minutes of fun and family-friendly music.
  • At 5 PM the worship band Koiné will give a concert of their best hits as they celebrate 20 years together.
  • Food and drinks will be served in the gym: burgers, brats, hot dogs, sides, and Culver’s custard.
  • Yard games will be played, and the playground will be open near the music stage.
  • Tents, tables, and folding chairs will be available out back.

Bring a lawn chair and a friend. You can even bring your own tent to escape the sun. Join God’s people for Summer at St. Andrew. Koiné will also play for both worship services on Sunday morning.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Small Talk returns soon
Small Talk will return with an all-new episode in two weeks. Small Talk is a St. Andrew podcast that features kids sharing the good news about Jesus. Host Rachel Kamin asks the questions, and the kids take it from there. Small Talk episodes run about 10 minutes and are released four times throughout the year. Our newest episode will be released July 26. You can’t listen to Small Talk without smiling!

St. Andrew library
Do you know about the St. Andrew library? It is in the Soul Café and contains many books that you are welcome to borrow and then return when finished. The checkout process is easy. Just find the green binder and write down your name and the book title. There are new books and old books, devotion books and doctrine books. Stop by sometime and browse the shelves.

Moms’ Group
Moms with little ones like spending time with other moms with little ones. That is why a group of St. Andrew moms started Moms’ Group. They are getting together with their children every other Tuesday this summer. To join the group, send an email to St. Andrew Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad.

Impact
Forgiving others can be hard—very hard sometimes. Jesus knows that. He told a parable to help you forgive. This week’s episode is part two on the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant with Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Professor Steve Geiger. You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Summer at St. Andrew service opportunities
You won’t want to miss this fun event on July 23. If you are looking for opportunities to serve, the following are for you:

  • Do you have a pickup truck and time to transport some staging platforms a short distance, especially on Saturday, July 22?
  • Are you able to lend your hands and help with some setup and/or takedown the day of the event? There will be some needs outdoors, in the gym, and in the kitchen.
  • Do you have a pop-up canopy for your family and others to use during the event?

If your answer is “yes” to any of these questions, please contact Pastor Clinton and let him know how you can serve.
