This Week
Shout louder
Many of us have had moments of defiance where we persisted after being encouraged or instructed to be quiet, settle down, or keep our thoughts and opinions to ourselves. Two blind men did this in Matthew 20:29-34. Read that section and see what resistance they faced. Then join us for worship to admire their persistence, yes, but also to marvel at our Savior’s persistence in coming to save us. Services are Thursday night at 7 and Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Highlights
Events and ministry news needing immediate attention
Voters’ meeting recap
Our annual voters’ meeting was held on June 28. Thanks to all who attended. The assembly approved the proposed Comprehensive Ministry Plan and Budget.
Two were elected to the Board of Directors, Ben Carlson as President and Jack Hunter as Director of Properties. Continuing members include Jamie Lundgren, Mitch Hutter, and Orv Jordahl. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to outgoing President John Kamin and Director of Properties Tyler Simmons for their faithful service over the past two years.
Finally, several calls were approved. Raul Ramos was formally called to serve as Westside Christian School’s Preschool Director. Ashely Renstrom’s call was adjusted to a full-time call for 1st grade. Val Weiss, Jack Murphy, and Emma Nolte received “permanent” calls, having completed synod certification.

A Place of Peace
Updates related to the ministry expansion and building project
Construction update
Flooring installation continues in the new building. The two entrance hallways will have tile floors as seen below. Drywalling is almost finished, and the classrooms now look like rooms!

Naming contest | Vote for your favorite
Last chance to cast your vote for the two rooms in the new building. We had some very creative ideas! Voting closes on Sunday, July 5, and we will announce the winners next week. Click here to cast your votes.
A Place of Peace giving
What a blessing to be just a few months away from occupying and utilizing the new spaces, thanks to God’s work through so many contributors who allowed us to exceed our campaign goal of $7,500,000. If you’re new to this and would like to contribute, go to st-andrew-online.org, click “Give” at the top of the page, and use “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund” or memo line. You can also place your contribution in a St. Andrew offering envelope and check “Ministry Expansion.” Contact Financial Administrator Ron Kerr with further questions.

Worship
Resources and opportunities for you to worship
Sanctuary floor signing video
In June, St. Andrew had the special opportunity to enter the new sanctuary and cover the floor in Bible passages. Enjoy this short video showing the blessings that will lie beneath our feet each week.

Save the date | Church dedication
Mark your calendars for September 27. We will be dedicating our new building in all three worship services that weekend and will have a special celebration following the 10:30 AM service. You won’t want to miss it! Don’t worry, that won’t be our first weekend in that space. Lord willing, we will have a soft opening at the end of August and will worship in the new sanctuary through September.
Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.
Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship on Sunday. Obviously ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Books to browse
The St. Andrew library serves us very well and will continue to in our new building. To prepare for the move, we are downsizing our collection of books which gives you books to browse. You can help yourself to any books on the table in the atrium. Thank you to all who continue to generously donate books to St. Andrew. Your gifts are appreciated.
How the Bible Came to Be
In August 2025, Dr. Stephen Geiger presented “How the Bible Came to Be” at Grow in Grace. His book is now available. The book helps us know the Bible is God’s Word and that it is accurate. This book will equip you to help others know what you know is true about the Bible. Look for this Growth Group this fall!
Impact podcast
This week we hear Jesus tell us about a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus. The story highlights their great contrast in life and in death. Pastor Jonathan Bauer from Good News Lutheran Church in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, is our guest. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Independence Day service opportunity
A St. Andrew tradition is to help Middleton VFW set out American flags around our community on July 4 to celebrate our nation’s independence. This is a great project for individuals, groups, or families, and the VFW makes a donation to St. Andrew. Flags are picked up by 6:30 AM at the Middleton VFW (just east of Metro Market) and then set out at various locations. The flags are returned to the VFW at 5 PM. Help with either or both. Contact Pastor Clinton to join this effort or sign up here.
Service opportunity | Moving help
Help our new Westside Christian School teacher Hannah Zabel unload and unpack. Her belongings arrive in Middleton next week, probably July 10. Contact Pastor Clinton if you can help any day toward the end of next week.
Service opportunity | Outdoor grounds project
We need to move some dirt! If you’d like to get outside on a Saturday or Sunday (TBD) to work with your hands, a shovel, and maybe a wheelbarrow, please contact Pastor Clinton with your available dates and times. A small crew should be able to knock it out pretty quickly.
Women serving women
Some women recently met to discuss ways to better connect, encourage, and support the women of our church family. We are assembling a group of women willing to help when needs arise, whether that’s sending a card, making a phone call, praying, providing a meal, visiting, or another act of kindness. If you’d like to be included, complete this simple form.
Monthly Mission Partner
July’s partner is Christian Aid & Relief, an organization of our church body whose mission is to reflect Christ’s love and compassion to souls suffering from disasters and hardships. Their work crosses state and national borders. For more information, visit wels.net/relief.
