This Sunday

The gospel changes lives
Just a few miles into the continent, Paul and his missionary entourage met a group of God-fearing women near a river, praying, singing, and listening to God’s Word. One of the women, Lydia, had a fascinating name, job, and social status. But the most interesting thing about her is how the Good News of Jesus changed her. The joy of the gospel makes a person want to share it with others and help those who are doing so. Read Acts 16:11-15, and gather with brothers and sisters to pray, sing, and listen to God’s Word on Thursday at 7 PM or on Sunday at 8 or 10:30 AM. The gospel changes us, but always for the better.

Highlights

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Call extended
Last Sunday, the brothers and sisters of St. Andrew listened, asked questions, gave opinions, and made observations about candidates for a Pastor for Service and Outreach. Then we asked the spiritual heads of our church, the Voters, to take that in and choose a man. The result was that we called Pastor Stephen Apt, currently serving in Liberty Hill, Texas. What’s next? Pastor Apt will soak in the information we’ve given him, and he will have conversations with people of the church he serves in Texas and with people of St. Andrew. Then he’ll decide where to serve. Typically, the process takes about 2 – 6 weeks. Please pray for him, his wife Anne, and the church he serves, and pray for your church. There is urgency about our work of outreach; may the Spirit hasten a pastor to assist us with it.Bible reading plan
As mentioned in church last Sunday, there are hundreds of ways to read your Bible. Do you want help coming up with a plan just for you? Reach out to Mr. Kjenstad, and he will explore the possibilities with you. Your own personal Bible reading plan—doesn’t that sound great?

Passion Points of View | Wednesday Lent devotions
Who doesn’t wish you could have witnessed the events of Jesus’ life? Because Jesus took on a human body to become our Savior, he could not have been available at all times for all people to see. Human bodies have limitations. Yet, eyewitness accounts survive. People were there. They did see and hear. Spend a half hour each Wednesday for the six weeks before Good Friday and Easter to see and hear from their points of view. Let the Spirit use the Word he gave to inspire a growing faith in you so that you appreciate all the more what he did on Good Friday and greet him with resurrection excitement on Easter Sunday. Gather with your St. Andrew family at either 5 PM (this service will be live streamed) or 6:30 PM on Wednesdays from March 2 to April 6.·  March 2: Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane
·  March 9: John as Jesus was arrested
·  March16: Joseph of Arimathea and Jesus’ trial
·  March 23: Barabbas and Jesus before Pilate
·  March 30: Mary, the mother of Jesus, at the foot of the cross
·  April 6: Nicodemus burying Jesus
