This Week

Directional power
Power can work in opposite ways. Computers are described as powerful when they can handle intensive processes to create useful content. But a storm that destroys everything in its path might earn the same description: powerful. Which direction does God’s power go? How does it affect you and others around you?

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Wednesday Lent Devotions begin February 22
Gather with brothers and sisters on the six Wednesdays of Lent at 5:00 or 6:30 PM. Stay for dinner provided by one of our St. Andrew Best Chefs from 5:30 – 6:15 PM. Livestream will be available at 5 PM. Just a reminder, St. Andrew does not cancel worship services for weather related causes. You determine whether or not it is wise for you to travel.

  • February 22: The Sorrow of Jesus | Best Chef Noemi Reyes will serve oven baked chili agave chicken over white rice.
  • March 1: The Mission of Jesus | Best Chef Kallista Fischer will serve pulled pork BBQ sliders and mac & cheese.
  • March 8: The Prayers of Jesus | Best Chef Denise Henningfield will serve pork and beef with gravy and mashed potatoes.
  • March 15: The Betrayal of Jesus | Best Chef Laura Westphal will serve spaghetti.

Save the date for Koiné
We all tend to look ahead to summer during these long winter months. As you make your summer plans, mark your calendars for Sunday, July 23. The worship band Koiné, who is celebrating 20 years of making music in 2023, is coming to St. Andrew as part of their anniversary tour. Koiné will serve as the music team for both Sunday services, and then they will put on an afternoon concert that will include music from some of St. Andrew’s finest. It will be a fun day you won’t want to miss! Watch for more details.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

St. Andrew library
There are lots of books for adults and children in the St. Andrew library, located in the Soul Café. Check out the wide selection, including the new arrivals. Find a book for your child to take home and read as a devotion for the family. Find a book to help you grow in your relationship with the Lord and in your understanding of his Word. Find one that uses God’s Word to help you get through a challenging time. To check out a book, find the green binder on the black cart. God will bless all the ways you nurture the precious faith he has given you.

St. Andrew Sports Camp
After a good four-year run with Science Camp, St. Andrew is making a change. We will be offering a sports camp this summer and a fine arts camp in 2024. Of course, the foundation of these camps will be the Word of God. Mark your calendar for St. Andrew Sports Camp July 10 – 13. Watch for more details this spring!

Impact
The Lord’s Prayer has been treasured by God’s people of every generation. On this week’s podcast, St. Andrew Pastor Clinton Kreuziger will help us better understand the meaning behind those treasured words. You may never think of the Lord’s Prayer the same way again! You can find our St. Andrew podcast Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

PowerHour
Miskigarten, Plugged into Jesus, and Spark are all thriving with children, and we want your child involved! All who attend grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. These important ministries also lay a foundation for developing lives of faithful service to our gracious Lord. Musikgarten and Plugged into Jesus welcome children beginning at 9:20 AM, and Spark begins at 9:25 AM. This week’s Plugged into Jesus/Spark lesson is about God’s Old Testament people sent into exile.

FUEL
Come for donuts, fun, and great discussion about heaven and hell. We will talk about what we know and what we wonder about. FUEL meets in room 114 at 9:25 AM. Did someone say donuts?

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Have an eye for appearance?
Has God given you an eye for interior design and function? You could put that to use in ministry by being part of an interior team—a small group to evaluate and prioritize needs in the building and either seek volunteers or hire services to get them done.

Has God given you an eye for a building’s exterior design and function? You could put that to use in ministry by being part of an exterior team—a small group to evaluate and prioritize needs outside the building and either seek volunteers or hire services to get them done. Neither group is intended to be the “doers,” but the needed planners. If you’re interested in a description of the work, send a message to [email protected].

2023 summer Mission Trips
Just outside Houston is Sienna, Texas. On the outskirts of Tampa, Florida is Wesley Chapel. Along the Big Sioux River near Sioux Falls lies Brandon, South Dakota. Between and around two lakes is the capital of Wisconsin. These locations have something in common: you have an opportunity to go. Grow in faith, encourage others, and share the love of Jesus through various acts of service by participating in one of these Mission Trips. Find the details and apply at the St. Andrew website.

Lenten meals: setup, service, and cleanup
There are still some opportunities for you or your Growth Group to serve by assisting with prep, setup, service, and cleanup. If you are interested, contact Pastor Clinton.

Monthly Mission Partner
Middleton Outreach Ministries is our February partner. In addition to funding, consider donating food items which you can bring to St. Andrew and deposit in the large container in the entryway. Find MOM’s most needed items list and more information at their website.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Call updates
On Tuesday, February 21, St. Andrew voters called Mr. Adam Bohl to be Westside Christian School’s new assistant principal and middle school teacher and Miss Jessica Neumann to teach 1st grade. Mr. Bohl is currently serving at Reformation Lutheran School in San Diego, California. Miss Neumann is teaching 1st grade at St. John Lutheran School in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Keep Mr. Bohl, Miss Neumann, and their families in your prayers as they learn about our ministry and determine where they can best use their gifts to serve God.

Call received
Kim Gnewuch, 3rd grade teacher at Westside Christian School, has received a call to teach grades 1-2 at Reformation Lutheran School in San Diego, California. Please keep her in your prayers as she deliberates where to serve.
