This Sunday

The future
What will the market do this year? Will inflation continue to rise? Will the Omicron variant mark the end of COVID fear? And how ’bout them Packers? Everyone has an opinion, but no one can answer those questions with certainty. This weekend, ponder spiritual truths with fellow saints. You might end up forming your own New Year’s resolutions; but you will better know your future. For certain.

Children’s Christmas Program 2021
The children of St. Andrew and Westside Christian are excited to share the Christmas story with all of our family and friends. Enjoy “The Miracle of Christmas” video and share with others as the children remind us of THE Miracle, Jesus, born to save us from our sin. Taking down the Christmas trees
After worship on Sunday, January 9, we will be taking down our three Christmas trees. If you and your family are willing to help with one of the trees, or if you could help take the trees back to storage, please contact Minister of Worship Naomi Laabs.

Worship Check-in
Connection Cards have returned. If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder each week. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Weekend worship songs
Preview some of the songs we will use for worship this weekend here. Obviously, ours won’t sound exactly like this, but listening to the links provided will certainly help you be more comfortable participating in the service.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Growth Groups
Spending time with God’s Word and with God’s people is time really well spent. Growth Group sign-ups for a new session begin January 9. You will be able to sign up in the atrium and online. St. Andrew Growth Groups are a great place to grow in faith and fellowship.

Grow in Grace
How is your prayer life? Are you a prayer warrior, or are you lacking in prayer? Either way, Jesus has a lot to say to you about prayer. “Lord Teach Us to Pray” is the next series for Grow in Grace. This two-week whole-church Bible study will help you learn from the ultimate prayer warrior, our Savior Jesus. Grow in Grace returns January 9 at 9:30 AM.

Impact
Wise men (and women) still seek Jesus! Listen to Pastor Jim Pope talk about what we know and what we don’t know about the true story of the Magi. Click here for Impact, or find it where you listen to podcasts. Search “Kjenstad Impact.” Impact is new every Monday, and all past episodes are available.

Pre-Marriage Workshop
You put time into planning for the dress, the band, the menu, the seating, the invitations, etc. And as good as it all is, it will all be gone a couple hours after you say your vows. Your marriage, though, remains. Plenty of wedding planning experts and websites offer to help you plan your wedding. Let us help you plan for a marriage that honors God and a lifetime of bringing joy to your spouse. St. Andrew offers two Pre-Marriage Workshops each year to our community. The next one is on Saturday, February 5. If you’re engaged, you can register now. Registration closes on Sunday, January 30. This isn’t just for people of St. Andrew—forward this invitation and the link to engaged couples you know who want to plan for a Christian marriage.

Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s Ministry sessions have ended for this semester. Musikgarten, Plugged into Jesus, and Spark will resume January 9.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Happy New Year!
For some, each new year generates resolutions to do something better, such as losing weight, getting better nutrition, seeing friends more often, or getting into a Growth Group. This is an opportune time to consider new ways to identify and share spiritual gifts with others and serve in one of the more than 160 volunteer opportunities at St. Andrew. For more information contact Curt Kephart.

January Monthly Mission Partner
Our January Mission Partner will be the Local Assistance Fund. The Love of Christ (TLC) ministry team works with this fund to provide love where it is desperately needed. This may come in the form of a handwritten note, aid for those who are homeless, spiritual counseling, or money for car repairs, gas, or food. You and our volunteers make this happen. Thank you!

Mission Trips 2022 informational meeting January 23
Anyone considering going on a Mission Trip this summer, adult or teen, should plan to attend the informational meeting Sunday, January 23, at 9:30 AM, in the sanctuary. This also includes Mission Madison participants and those who have been on a previous Mission Trip. We will provide information for each trip so you can decide which trip may be most appropriate for you. We will also outline some factors that help us select our mission partner and how we may serve and grow in unique ways.

In 2022, our Mission Trip focus includes these potential locations: Greater Madison, Wisconsin; Sure Foundation Church, Brandon, South Dakota; Citrus Grove Church, Wesley Chapel, Florida; Illume Church, Seattle, Washington; and Mahahual, Mexico.

Connect | Serve | Impact Survey
Have you recently updated information on a Connection Card or in Community Church Builder (CCB)?  As we streamline the Connection Card process to enhance our community portal (CCB), it is important that your information is up-to-date and accurate.  Please log in to CCB to verify that you and your family’s information is current, and please take the Connect | Serve | Impact Survey to highlight areas of more than 160 ways to serve at St. Andrew. If you have already updated your survey in 2021, we will be reaching out to you soon to suggest new ways to plug in and serve that fit your interest and gifts. Thank you.

2022-2023 enrollment begins
Early enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year begins on Tuesday, January 4, and ends on Sunday, January 17. This period is only for current Westside families and St. Andrew members. If you are interested in enrolling students from Pre-K3 through 8th grade for next school year, you can apply online via TADS. Reach out to Principal Meredith Pucci with any questions. Beginning on January 18th, enrollment will be made available to the community. We anticipate that some classrooms may immediately reach capacity. Families who submit an application for a room that is at capacity are placed on the waiting list. All enrollment requests received on and after January 18th will be processed in the order they are received, so be sure to take advantage of the early enrollment period soon!
