This Sunday

The Miracle of Christmas
Christmas is such a powerful word that it brings to mind many other words: joy, gifts, trees, lights, maybe even eggnog. This year, let Christmas become for you synonymous with another word: miracle. Gather in the dark with brothers and sisters to recall and worship God for the miracles of Christmas. The saints will gather for worship at 1, 3, and 5 PM.  Then, gather again with the sun streaming through the windows to hear and sing the traditional “Lessons and Carols,” on Sunday at 8 or 10:30 AM. We’ve moved this special worship opportunity from Christmas Day to December 26 just for this year. On Christmas Day, find blessing through an online-only service via our website.

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Small Talk
Small Talk is a podcast with children sharing the good news about Jesus. This final Christmas episode is all about the shepherds, the first to know about the birth of Jesus. Listen to this podcast and then be like those shepherds and tell others about it. Use this link to listen. You can also find Small Talk on Spotify and other podcast platforms by searching “Kjenstad Impact.” You can’t listen to Small Talk without smiling!Impact—A St. Andrew podcast
“To us a child is born.” Those familiar words, penned by the prophet Isaiah, are cherished words at Christmas. This week on Impact you can learn more about them and the full Christmas message in Isaiah 9. Click here for Impact, or find it where you listen to podcasts. Search “Kjenstad Impact.” Impact is new every Monday and all past episodes are available.

Pre-Marriage Workshop
You put time into planning for the dress, the band, the menu, the seating, the invitations, etc. And as good as it all is, it will all be gone a couple hours after you say your vows. Your marriage, though, remains. Plenty of wedding planning experts and websites offer to help you plan your wedding. Let us help you plan for a marriage that honors God and a lifetime of bringing joy to your spouse. St. Andrew offers two Pre-Marriage Workshops each year to our community. The next one is on Saturday, February 5. If you’re engaged, you can register now. Registration closes on Sunday, January 30. This isn’t just for people of St. Andrew—forward this invitation and the link to engaged couples you know who want to plan for a Christian marriage.

Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s Ministry sessions have ended for this semester. Musikgarten, Plugged into Jesus, and Spark will resume January 9.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

January Monthly Mission Partner
Our January Mission Partner will be the Local Assistance Fund. The Love of Christ (TLC) ministry team works with this fund to provide love where it is desperately needed. This may come in the form of a handwritten note, aid for those who are homeless, spiritual counseling, or money for car repairs, gas, or food. You and our volunteers make this happen. Thank you!Mission Trips 2022 informational meeting January 23
Anyone considering going on a Mission Trip this summer, adult or teen, should plan to attend the informational meeting Sunday, January 23, at 9:30 AM, in the sanctuary. This also includes Mission Madison participants and those who have been on a previous Mission Trip. We will provide information for each trip so you can decide which trip may be most appropriate for you. We will also outline some factors that help us select our mission partner and how we may serve and grow in unique ways.

In 2022, our Mission Trip focus includes these potential locations: Greater Madison, Wisconsin; Sure Foundation Church, Brandon, South Dakota; Citrus Grove Church, Wesley Chapel, Florida; Illume Church, Seattle, Washington; and Mahahual, Mexico.

Connect | Serve | Impact Survey
Have you recently updated information on a Connection Card or in Community Church Builder (CCB)? As we streamline the Connection Card process to enhance our community portal (CCB), it is important that your information is up-to-date and accurate. Please log in to CCB to verify that you and your family’s information is current, and please take the Connect | Serve | Impact Survey to highlight areas of more than 160 ways to serve at St. Andrew. If you have already updated your survey in 2021, we will be reaching out to you soon to suggest new ways to plug in and serve that fit your interest and gifts. Thank you.

December Monthly Mission Partner | Costa Maya Ministries
Our congregation is a mission partner of Costa Maya Ministries, sharing the gospel in Mahahual, Mexico. By God’s grace, the mission is growing and has just built its first church and ministry center this year. Due to COVID, much “finishing” work has been delayed. We are gathering special offerings during the month of December to partner in this ministry.

For more information, click here, or watch videos on YouTube by searching “Costa Maya Ministries.” Mahahual is one of our anticipated Mission Trips for 2022.

Early enrollment for the 2022 – 2023 school year begins on Tuesday, January 4, and ends on Sunday, January 17. This period is only for current Westside families and St. Andrew members. If you are interested in enrolling students from Pre-K3 through 8th grade for next school year, you can apply online via TADS. Reach out to Principal Meredith Pucci with any questions. Beginning on January 18th, enrollment will be made available to the community. We anticipate that some classrooms may immediately reach capacity.
