This Week

Jesus’ family tree: Bathsheba
The story of David and Bathsheba is probably one of the best-known stories of all time, but not because it’s such a good example for anyone to follow. Still, when you think of it, if God was going to take on a human body through a human mother, what choice did he have but to do so through sinful human beings. That’s all there are. The most wonderful thing about the story of David and Bathsheba is that through them, we received a Savior from sin. Join brothers and sisters on this last Sunday in Advent to give thanks for how our Savior came to earth the first time and that he will come again in glory the second time. Because of the crunch of space in our parking lot and facility, we will not be able to gather for worship on Thursday, but invite everyone to be part of the gatherings on Sunday at 8:00 AM or 10:30 AM.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Awake and Alive
Awake and Alive is a Milwaukee-based WELS ministry for young adults 18 – 25. Interested? Check this out to learn more. Go here to look into their 2025 winter retreat in Brookfield on January 10 – 11.

Men of His Word conference
For the past several years, hundreds of men have attended Men of His Word for encouragement and growth as Christian leaders. Brothers from St. Andrew are inviting you to join them for this day trip to Oshkosh on February 8. Find more information about Men of His Word 2024 and the registration link here. If you are attending, contact Brian Fritz or Tom Shepard to join the carpool.

Small Talk podcast
A new Small Talk has arrived in time for Christmas! Small Talk is kids sharing the good news about Jesus. Host Rachel Kamin talks with young children from St. Andrew. She asks questions about the Bible, and the kids take it from there. Listen here to this all-new episode with Rocky about the Christmas shepherds. You can also listen on any podcast platform by searching “Small Talk Kamin.”

Impact podcast
The story of Christmas in Luke 2 has very familiar words that many of us have heard over and over and yet, they never get old. Professor Aaron Dolan from Martin Luther College helps us understand the details. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

PowerHour
We are throwing a birthday party for Jesus at the next PowerHour! PowerHour is a children’s ministry that serves children and their caregivers. Children up to school-age are welcome. The next PowerHour is Friday, December 20, 10:15 – 11:15 AM, in the gymnasium. Go here to learn more.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Service opportunity | Funeral luncheons
With two upcoming funerals come several opportunities to serve. If you are interested in serving by setting up tables and chairs, prepping and/or serving food, or cleaning up and taking down, please contact Pastor Clinton. The funerals are Saturday and Monday. There will be tasks from about 10:00 – 1:30 on both days. This is a great way to support the grieving families.

Dyer family meal train
Whenever we welcome new members to St. Andrew, including last weekend, we use the phrase, “in the bond of Christian love.” One way to show that love and support for the Dyer family during their difficult time is to ease the burden of meal preparations. A meal train has been established for the family for the next few weeks. In the bond of Christian love, take a slot and serve the Dyer family.

Christmas gift assistance available
Tangible gifts remind us of the infinitely superior intangible gift of salvation that God has given us in his Son Jesus, whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. If your temporary or ongoing circumstances make Christmas gifts a significant financial burden for your family, let St. Andrew help by completing this assistance request form by December 19.

Thank you, St. Andrew
We would like to thank everyone for their continued generosity and commitment to supporting the gospel ministries of St Andrew.

As you know, we recently transitioned from the CCB online giving platform to Pushpay to better serve our community with a simpler and more user-friendly giving experience. Thank you, St. Andrew, for taking the time to move to this new platform. Your dedication ensures that we can continue to spread God’s love and fulfill the work he has called us to do. Your faithful giving impacts many lives and souls. We are reminded of the words in 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Your cheerful and faithful giving is a reflection of God’s grace and provision. Please know that we are praying for you and celebrating this journey of faith together.

If you have any questions or need assistance with Pushpay, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ron Kerr.

May God bless you abundantly for your faithfulness and generosity as you continue to join Jesus on his mission.

The St. Andrew Financial Team (Todd Ninman, Amy Hutter, Dick Bernards, and Ron Kerr)

Gratitude card received
When a fire struck a St. Andrew family’s parents’ farm, St. Andrew sent a monetary gift to express support and share the love of Christ. See an excerpt below:

Thank you for the gift of money after our fire. It is greatly appreciated. God has a plan for us, whether good or bad. Thanks for the continued prayers. We are truly blessed.

Monthly Mission Partner
Our December partner’s mission is to build eternal friendships. Executive Director Aaron Wakeman plans to visit St. Andrew in May to present on this ministry. Watch the update video for more information.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

What a blessing
Miss Morgan Behnke has been working at Westside Christian School as a Martin Luther College student teacher for the past ten weeks. Mrs. Val Weiss has been her supervising teacher over that period of time. Morgan has had the opportunity to work with students in small groups or on a one-on-one basis. Her enthusiasm for ministry, her passion for helping students, and her love for sharing the gospel were witnessed every day. Sadly, this is her last week at Westside. It is obvious that she will be a blessing to whatever school she serves in the future.

Thank you, Mrs. Weiss, for sharing your knowledge and experience with Miss Behnke. Thank you, Miss Behnke, for your work here at Westside.  We hope we were as much a blessing to you as you were to our Westside ministry!
