This Week

A unique birth announcement
New parents have throughout history heralded the birth of a child in different ways: a town crier, community bulletin board, local paper, U.S. mail, and more recently Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat. But read Luke 2:8-20 and discover a unique kind of birth announcement.

And His Name Shall Be Called
During the Wednesdays in December, take time to worship with a St. Andrew Advent Home Devotion. Christmas is coming, and these devotions will help keep your attention on the child in the manger. Feel free to share with friends and family. Click here to watch the devotion.

Small Talk
The St. Andrew podcast Small Talk is back! Take a listen to hear about Jesus: the baby of Christmas, the promised Savior, and our reigning King. Host Rachel Kamin chats with young children from St. Andrew. She asks questions, and the kids take it from there. This week, listen to Layla talk about Jesus as the promised Savior. You can find Small Talk here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.” You can’t listen without smiling!

Giving tree
Thank you, St. Andrew, for your generosity. All of the giving tree envelopes were taken! If you grabbed an envelope, please return the envelope and gift card to the Drop Box at the Welcome Center this Sunday, December 18 so they can be distributed to the families next week. May God bless you for your generosity and bless families in need through you.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

 Milestones

  • Bethany Ann Kleman was born to Lynn and Todd Kleman on Sunday, December 11. Mom and baby are home and doing well. She was made our little sister through the Spirit’s work in water and the Word on Wednesday, December 13. We’ll celebrate and affirm the Spirit’s gifts to her in a worship service to come.
  • Quinten Urban departed this life and entered the glory of eternal life on Saturday, December 10. He experienced a stroke on Thursday and passed peacefully. Quint was brought into the kingdom in 1932 and our gracious Lord kept him in faith for the following 90 years. For 68 of those years, he glorified the Lord with his wife, Audrey. We’ll gather with her, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends to honor Quint with the high and holy privilege of a Christian funeral on Saturday, December 17, at 11 AM. A time of visitation will be available for an hour before the worship service. After the worship service, kind servants of St. Andrew will provide a luncheon to help us comfort each other and share stories about Quint. If you’d like to help set up, prepare food, serve food, or clean up after the lunch, please send a note to [email protected]To view Quint’s obituary, click here.

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Grow in Grace
“I worry that I worry too much.” That is the latest series at Grow in Grace. This whole church Bible study will give you encouragement to worry less and trust more. The 4-part series started last Sunday. If you missed week one, you are encouraged to join us this Sunday. We will discuss several aspects of worry, including why it is foolish to worry and what we can do to worry less. Gather with us at 9:30 in the sanctuary. Childcare for children 3 and older will be available in the gym beginning at 9:25 AM.

Impact
Impact is a podcast ministry of St. Andrew. If you haven’t yet given it a listen, now is the time. Impact offers you a unique way to grow in your understanding of God’s precious Word. This week’s episode features interviews with four different guests, all talking about the power and necessity of God’s Word. You can find Impact here or wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

PowerHour
If you have a little one 3 or younger, check out this enriching ministry. PowerHour is for children and their parents, grandparents, or caregivers. For more details about PowerHour, click here. The next PowerHour is December 16 at 10:30 AM, and the theme is “Happy Birthday, Jesus!”

Musikgarten | Plugged into Jesus | Spark | FUEL
These ministries are off until January 15. If you have any questions or feedback about these nurture ministries, please contact Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad. We look forward to sharing Jesus with all of the young people at St. Andrew in 2023!

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

December Monthly Mission Partner
Our December Mission Partner is the Local Assistance Fund. The Love of Christ (TLC) ministry team works with this fund to provide love where it is desperately needed. This may come in the form of a handwritten note, aid for those who are homeless, spiritual counseling, or money for car repairs, gas, or food. The Local Assistance Fund could help someone you know or those who drop in looking for assistance. You and our volunteers make this happen. Thank you!

Kreuziger kickoff party
Come welcome the Kreuziger family with a kickoff party on Sunday, January 8, 4 – 6 PM, in the gymnasium. The theme of the party is an old-fashioned Wisconsin tailgate with Wisconsin themed activities for both children and adults, delicious tailgate food, a dessert competition, and of course a time to meet Pastor Clinton, Michelle, Violet, Hawthorn, Iris, and Lavender. Show your team spirit by dressing in your favorite team’s gear. To RSVP and sign up to help, click here. If you are interested in joining the dessert competition, register here or in the atrium. Go St. Andrew!

Kreuziger card shower
Over the next few weeks, let’s fill a box with gift cards and cards of encouragement to bless Clinton and Michelle as they move to the area to serve among us. We will then present them with the gifts at the installation party. If you would like to participate, there is a card box in the atrium with their names on it.

Call extended
The Board of Directors held a call meeting on Wednesday, November 30, for a 1st grade teacher beginning in the 2023-24 school year. The Voters issued a call to Ms. Rachel Buschkopf, who is currently teaching 3rd grade at Wisconsin Lutheran School in Racine, Wisconsin. Please keep her in your prayers as she deliberates where to serve.
