This Week
The end
What would you write at the end of a letter to loved ones? This weekend we come to the end of Paul’s second letter to the little church in Thessaloniki. His final subjects might surprise you, but they make perfect sense. His final words aren’t surprising at all, but they are so very good to hear: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” Try to top that. Let’s mine the truth from God’s holy Word together this Thursday or Sunday.

Small Talk is back with an all-new episode! Kinsley joins host Rachel Kamin to talk about going fishing, Jesus-style. Give it a listen here or find it wherever you listen to podcasts by searching “Small Talk Kamin.”
Fall Growth Groups
Are you ready to join a St. Andrew Growth Group? The fall lineup is just about set, and you will soon have a chance to choose a group to join. In the meantime, say a prayer for this foundational ministry of St. Andrew. Click here to learn more about St. Andrew Growth Groups.
Impact
Have you ever tried to figure God out? In the closing verses of Romans 11, the apostle Paul tells us not to bother. Professor John Boggs from Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin, loves those verses and tells us why. You can listen to Impact here or on popular podcast platforms by searching “Kjenstad Impact.”

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
Service role | bakery courier
It’s all about the fancy title, right? If you are someone who usually attends 8:00 worship and/or education hour and are looking for a service role, this might be for you. The task is to get the weekly church doughnuts to campus on time. It is about a 20-minute time commitment. Contact Pastor Clinton if interested.
August Monthly Mission Partner
The Love of Christ is St. Andrew’s compassion ministry to the community. It is one way we help those in need. This aid can be manpower or financial assistance. Either way, we show the love of Christ by helping not out of obligation, but out of thanksgiving for Christ’s love.
Time of Grace event at St. Andrew | register by August 3
Time of Grace, most known for TV sermons, is a media ministry whose goal is to connect people to God’s grace—his love, glory, and power—so they realize the temporary things of life don’t satisfy. St. Andrew will be hosting a casual event in which you can meet Pastor Mike Novotny and hear more about the ministry.
- 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, August 15
- Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served.
- Register by August 3.
Golf outing and dinner with Resurrection Lutheran Church
Resurrection Lutheran Church, a sister of St. Andrew in Verona, has a golf outing, social, and dinner planned for September 10 at Pioneer Pointe Golf Course. You can have a good time whether you golf well, not so well, or not at all. Find more information and register here.
Lakeside bus driver
Lakeside is looking for two bus drivers for this coming school year (Middleton and Sun Prairie/Eastside routes). Do you know anyone who is retired or looking for part time work, or currently has a flexible schedule and would like to make some additional income? No experience needed, and we will train new drivers in house to obtain the proper license. Contact Eric Haley for more information.

Westside Christian School
A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word
Middle school classroom assistant
Westside Christian School is looking for a part-time middle school classroom assistant for the 2023-24 school year. Classroom assistants support our lead teachers by preparing materials, working with small groups of students on instructional tasks, and supervising students in study hall. Candidates would ideally have experience working with children in an educational setting, demonstrate a willingness to cooperate with other adults, and have a joy for supporting students of all ages. The schedule would ideally be Monday – Friday from 12:00 – 3:30 PM, but the position can be somewhat flexible. Contact Meredith Pucci for further information and to receive a complete position description.
New called worker installation
On Sunday, August 13, St. Andrew will install two new called workers into our ministry of Westside Christian School: Mr. Adam Bohl (assistant principal) and Mrs. Elicia Shepard (1st grade). Please join us for refreshments between services to welcome them to our ministry. |
