Holy Week worship services

Highlights

Events and ministry news needing immediate attention

Upcoming call meeting
Our next call meeting for both Pastor for Outreach and 5th grade teacher at Westside Christian School is Sunday, April 12, at 11:45 AM in the sanctuary.

All are invited to call meetings to discuss the qualities, gifts, and fit of the different candidates provided by synod officers. The voters of St. Andrew then choose one to whom to extend the call. If you are unable to attend, please keep our ministry and this process in your prayers.

Please see more WCS call updates in the Westside Christian School section.

A Place of Peace

Updates related to the ministry expansion and building project

Construction update
The month of April will begin to see a lot of interior finishes inside the new building: cabinetry, countertops, and windowsills will be installed; the stone wall behind the altar will go up; and doors, bathroom accessories, marker boards, and many more items will be delivered on-site. Stay tuned for more pictures coming soon.

A Place of Peace giving
Giving can be set up like other offerings. Go to “Give” at the website, and you can set up a one-time or recurring gift. Choose “A Place of Peace” as the “Fund.” If using a check, please put “A Place of Peace” in the memo line. If using St. Andrew offering envelopes, use the designation “Ministry Expansion.”

Even if you didn’t make a formal pledge, you can still give. Every bit helps, as St. Andrew will still carry some debt, and the less debt, the more ministry.

Worship

Resources and opportunities for you to worship

Worship check-in
If you worship on-site, please fill out the Connection Card attached to your worship folder. Online worshipers, please continue to check in here.

Nurture

Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others

Call received
On Tuesday, March 24, Staff Minister for Nurture Mark Kjenstad received a divine call to Salem Lutheran School in Greenfield, Minnesota. The call is to be principal at the school. Mark and Jessica appreciate your prayers and welcome your thoughts as they deliberate.

Library help
When we make the move into our new sanctuary, we will also move our church library into the new building. If you would like to help us turn the page on our library, you can book a spot on this team by contacting Staff Minister Mark Kjenstad.

Parents’ Night Out
Our FUEL students are planning one more fundraiser for their trip to the WELS International Youth Rally this summer. On Saturday, April 11, parents can drop their children off at St. Andrew and enjoy a night out. Children ages 3 – 12 are welcome from 4 to 8 PM. Food and drink will be provided. Use this link to sign up. Freewill donations will be accepted.

Sacred concert
The Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus will present a sacred concert at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 12, at 3:30. This will be the last stop on their 2026 spring tour, which has taken them to several WELS churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Illinois. This 59-voice choir is composed of men studying for the pastoral ministry.

Small Talk
Small Talk is back and just in time for Easter. Host Rachel Kamin spoke with a pair of second grade friends, Sky and Esme, about Jesus’ death and resurrection. They are quite a dynamic duo. You can access our latest episode here. Enjoy their conversation and tell a friend to give it a listen.

Impact
Isaiah 53 is before us this week, a great chapter indeed. Pastor Clinton is here to help us understand more deeply what happened on a first century Friday outside of Jerusalem, which was foretold 700 years earlier by the great prophet. You can listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.

PowerHour
The next PowerHour is Friday, April 17. PowerHour is for parents and their young children. It begins at 10:15 AM in the St. Andrew gym. For more information on PowerHour, click here.

Service & Outreach

Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others

Photography team
A new serving team has been on the loose. If you start to see the same individuals collecting shots of worship, serving, events, etc., know that they are indeed authorized! Their work will be used for promotional, informational, celebratory, and posterity purposes.

Service opportunity | Easter breakfast
There are still opportunities to serve on Sunday morning, restocking, turning tables over, and final cleanup. Sign up here to serve in this way.

Service opportunity | Brat Fest
St. Andrew will be a Brat Fest 2026 charity. Volunteers interact with the community and earn donations toward St. Andrew mission trips and/or the teen youth rally. Every day May 17 – 24 has many opportunities for individuals, families, or Growth Groups. This sign-up goes live on Saturday, April 4. After registering, please let Pastor Clinton know your shift.

Service opportunity | baptism blankets
Have you noticed how blessed St. Andrew is to have so many young families? Since 2007, St. Andrew has a tradition of giving baby blankets to our youngest members at their baptisms as a keepsake of their special day and a reminder that they are redeemed children of God. In that time, 256 baptized children have received blankets.

In addition, the group makes a baby blanket donation to the Care Net Pregnancy Center, a local organization that supports women with unexpected pregnancies. More recently, lap blankets have been made for homebound members of St. Andrew.

This ministry has opportunities for growth. If you have the gift of knitting, crocheting, quilting, or hand-tying, please consider sharing your craft with this team. Contact Lois Solverud for more information.

LWMS Capitol Circuit Spring Rally | April 18
This event will be held at Eastside Lutheran Church in Madison, 8:30 AM – noon, with lunch to follow. There will be a presentation by Pastor Daniel Simons of Ascension Lutheran Church in Macomb, Michigan. No cost and no advance registration needed. Contact Amanda Taticek for more information.

Monthly Mission Partner
Our April partner is Central Africa Medical Mission, a ministry that uses needed medical care as a bridge to the gospel of Jesus, primarily in Zambia and Malawi. Find more information and lots of exciting news about this ministry at camm.us.

Westside Christian School

A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word

Call updates
We continue to call for a grade 5 teacher for Westside Christian School. We called Mrs. Marlee Hill last Thursday, but she made a quick decision to return the call. Our next call meeting will coincide with the pastor call meeting on Sunday, April 12, 2026

Mrs. Ashley Renstrom was called to teach grades 1 – 2 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She made a quick decision and returned that call. Mr. Adam Bohl received and returned a call to teach 6th grade and serve as the technology director at Mount Olive Lutheran School in Appleton, Wisconsin. We are thankful that both Ashley and Adam will continue at Westside Christian School. Please keep Beautiful Savior and Mount Olive in your prayers as they continue to look for teachers.
