This Week
Save us now!
We will be suspending our Matthew series until the end of May to accommodate Holy Week and our A Place of Peace series. So, this weekend it’s . . . Matthew. Ha, but not where we were; we will skip ahead to chapter 21 where shouts of “save us now!” were heard on Palm Sunday. The question we need to ask is this: from what are we asking for salvation? Join us Thursday night at 7 or Sunday morning at 8 or 10:30.

Nurture
Ways to be connected to Jesus throughout the week in your personal life and with others
Mission Possible: A Model for Personal Evangelism
Grow in Grace is returning with a presentation that will help you be a missionary, without leaving the country! Aaron Wakeman, Executive Director of Friends Network, will describe the unique evangelism model they teach to all of their new missionaries. He will share stories of everyday people making an eternal impact around the world and give you simple tools to be a missionary right where you are. Join us for Mission Possible on May 18 at 9:30 in the sanctuary. Contact Yvonne Onsager to sign up for childcare.
St. Andrew Science Camp
St. Andrew is excited to bring back Science Camp. This summer, campers will learn about God’s creatures, great and small. There will be lessons from God’s Word, live animals, experiments, snacks, and more. Science Camp is July 14 – 17 from 8:30 – 11:30 AM and is open to kindergarten – grade 6. Register here. When you register, note the special opportunity for grades 5 – 6. If your child in 7th or 8th grade wants to serve as a helper, reach out to Yvonne Onsager.
Small Talk
Small Talk returns next week with an all-new episode on Holy Week. Small Talk is kids sharing the good news about Jesus. Host Rachel Kamin talks with young children from St. Andrew. She asks questions about the Bible, and the kids take it from there. Small Talk episodes run about 10 minutes and are released four times throughout the year. You can’t listen to Small Talk without smiling! All past episodes can be found here.
Impact podcast
The showdown between Elijah and the prophets of Baal is reminiscent of David vs. Goliath. It was another mismatch. Pastor Erich Schaser, a teacher of God’s Word at Fox Valley Lutheran High School, is here to pull out some lessons from this true account. Listen to Impact here or by searching for “Kjenstad Impact” wherever you listen to podcasts.
Plugged into Jesus
PIJ has a special lesson this week that will prepare children for Holy Week. Plugged into Jesus is for children in 4K – grade 5. The 4K – kindergarten group starts in room 102, and grades 1 – 5 start in the gym. It all begins at 9:20 on Sunday morning. Children do not need to register.

Service & Outreach
Opportunities for you to live your faith and love for Jesus by sharing Jesus with others
We need your picture!
Have you ever arrived in a new community and been expected to learn hundreds of names and faces quickly? Well, that’s what we’ll be asking of a new pastor soon. To help make that easier for him, let’s try to make sure he can access current pictures of the St. Andrew family. Please send a current picture of your family or yourself in portrait orientation to [email protected]. Thanks for your help in the coming transition.
Service opportunity | Easter breakfast
Large meals take a lot to put on, so if you are interested in helping with Easter breakfast in any capacity, including setup on Saturday, contact Pastor Clinton.
Easter invitations
Easter invitation cards are in the atrium. It’s not too late to take one or several to give to friends or neighbors or to leave somewhere public. In addition, be sure to share social media posts about upcoming services.
Service opportunity | Brat Fest
St. Andrew will again be a Brat Fest charity. Volunteers interact with the community and earn donations for St. Andrew’s ministry. Opportunities abound from May 18 – 25, but you must register here and then please let Pastor Clinton know which slot you signed up for. Sign up right away to make sure you get your desired slot. Find more information about Brat Fest at bratfest.com.
WELS Connection
Every month, our church body releases a video to highlight a specific project or ministry of some of our brothers and sisters in faith. Last month’s video focuses on an effort we can all take part in: encouraging young people to consider a career in ministry.

Monthly Mission Partner
Our April partner is Central Africa Medical Mission, a ministry that uses needed medical care as a bridge to the gospel of Jesus, primarily in Zambia and Malawi. Just last month, CAMM was able to purchase a new ambulance because of gracious donors. Find more information at camm.us.

Westside Christian School
A ministry of St. Andrew, preparing students for academic success and lives of Christian service founded on God’s Word
Teacher call updates
Both of the teachers we have called to Westside Christian School have made decisions on their calls. Michele Diener has declined the call to teach grade 3 at WCS. We wish her the best and pray that her ministry in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, continues to bring her joy. Mrs. Sarah Durkee has accepted her call to Westside Christian School to teach English Language Arts in our middle school. We praise God for filling a need that we have and look forward to her arrival. Mrs. Durkee is married to Eric, and they have three children. Next year she will have two children at Luther Preparatory School and one at Martin Luther College.
Our next call meeting to fill the 3rd grade position is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, at 6 PM, in the sanctuary. Please pray that this position can be filled and we can look forward to a full staff. |
