Spark (2)

Spark

Spark serves students in grades 6 - 8 and meets Sunday mornings during the school year from 9:30 - 10:15.
Growing up has always had its unique challenges for preteens and young teens. This is true today more than ever. Fortunately, we have God's Word to help guide them. Each week in Spark,  the students read through a Bible story and then spend time discussing ways to apply the lessons to their relationships, responsibilities, and recreation.

Parents Equipped to Teach

PETT is for grades 6-8 and their parents. We help parents teach the key truths of God’s Word to their children using the catechism written by Martin Luther. Everyone works through Luther’s Catechism at the pace that works for them. Click here to see a lesson explained on the First Commandment.

On the first Monday of the month (September - May), the students get together for good food, a fun activity, and a review of one of the key teachings in the catechism.

When parents and students complete one section of the catechism, they meet with the pastor or staff minister to review what they have learned. When they finish with the six parts of the catechism, the students are confirmed on their choice from one of four Sundays throughout the year that are Confirmation Sundays. Confirmation Sundays are the first Sundays in February, May, August, and November.  With confirmation comes the invitation to the Lord’s Supper.
